Future Continuous Tense: Future Continuous tense is also called Future Progressive Tense. This type of verb tense indicates/denotes action happening or continuing for future times. Definition of Future Continuous Tense

The future continuous tense refers to a verb tense that denotes that something will happen in the future and continue for an expected period of time. It is also known as the future progressive tense. The future continuous refers to an unfinished action or event that will be in progress at a time later than now. The future continuous is used for quite a few different purposes.

Example of Future Continuous Tense

An example of future continuous tense is-

  • It shall be raining from tomorrow. (कल से बारिश हो रही होगी।)
  • I shall be watching the series today. (कल से बारिश हो रही होगी।)
  • They shall be staying at my place. (वे मेरे स्थान पर रहेंगे।)
  • The doctor shall be coming tomorrow. (डॉक्टर कल आ रहे होंगे। )

  • I shall be arranging all the necessary materials for the program. (मैं कार्यक्रम के लिए सभी आवश्यक सामग्री की व्यवस्था करूँगा।)

Uses of Future Continuous Tense

Some of the uses of future continuous tense are-

  1. To indicate an action that will be going on in the future.
  2. To describe interrupted actions in the future.
  3. To express actions in progress at a specific time in the future.
  4. To refer to actions that are happening now and expected to continue some time in the future.
  5. To ask a question politely about the future.
  6. To express parallel actions or series of parallel actions in the future.

Example of Uses of Future Continuous Tense

Some of the examples of uses of future continuous tense are-

1. To indicate an action that will be going on in the future. 

For example-

  • He'll be coming to visit us next week. (वह अगले हफ्ते हमसे मिलने आएंगे।)
  • She will be joining a coaching centre for tuition. (वह ट्यूशन के लिए एक कोचिंग सेंटर में शामिल होगी।)
  • They will be playing football on that field. (वे उस मैदान पर फुटबॉल खेल रहे होंगे।)
  • April will be having coffee in this coffee shop. (अप्रैल इस कॉफी शॉप में कॉफी पी रहा होगा।)
  • Bob will be going to the library. (बॉब पुस्तकालय जा रहा होगा।)

2. To describe interrupted actions in the future. 

For example-

  • When you come tomorrow, they will be playing tennis. (जब तुम कल आओगे, वे टेनिस खेल रहे होंगे।)
  • I'll be waiting here when you arrive. (मैं यहाँ इंतज़ार कर रहा हूँ जब तुम आओगे।)
  • We will be staying at an Airbnb, so contact the owner of the property if anything happens. (हम एक Airbnb पर रहेंगे, इसलिए अगर कुछ होता है तो संपत्ति के मालिक से संपर्क करें।)

3. To express actions in progress at a specific time in the future.

For example-

  • At 12 o'clock tomorrow, we will be having lunch at school. (कल दोपहर 12 बजे हम स्कूल में लंच करेंगे।)
  • At Noon, I will be eating lunch with my daughter. (दोपहर में, मैं अपनी बेटी के साथ दोपहर का खाना खाऊंगा।)
  • Around 6, we'll be watching a movie with our kids.( लगभग 6 बजे, हम अपने बच्चों के साथ एक फिल्म देख रहे होंगे।)

4. To refer to actions that are happening now and expected to continue sometime in the future.

For example-

  • Unfortunately, sea levels will still be rising in 20 years. (दुर्भाग्य से, समुद्र का स्तर अभी भी 20 वर्षों में बढ़ रहा होगा।)
  • I will be studying for some time. You carry on. (मैं कुछ समय के लिए अध्ययन करूंगा। तुम जारी रखों।)
  • My mother will be praying for the next two hours. (मैं कुछ समय के लिए अध्ययन करूंगा। तुम जारी रखों।)

5. To ask a question politely about the future.

For example-

  • Will you be bringing your friend to the party tonight? (क्या आप आज रात अपने दोस्त को पार्टी में लाएंगे?)

6. To express parallel actions or series of parallel actions in the future.

For example-

  • In the Future.
  • Next week.
  • Next time.
  • Next year.
  • At this moment next year.
