TNPSC Group 2 Age Relaxation
There is no maximum age limit for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyars), Scheduled Tribes, Most Backward Classes / Denotified Communities, Backward Classes, Backward Classes (Muslims), and Destitute Widows of all categories.
- Age relaxation up to 10 years above the maximum age limit is given to differently-abled persons
- The maximum age limit for ex-servicemen is 48 years. However, the age concession does not apply to the ex-servicemen applicants who have already been recruited to any class or service, or category.

Candidates must have completed their Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University/Institution for most Group II/IIA posts.

TNPSC Group 2 2026 Application Form
TNPSC Group 2 2026 Apply Online link is active from 11th August 2026, and the last date to apply is 9th September 2026 (11.59 PM). Candidates must first complete One Time Registration (OTR) on www.tnpscexams.in (valid for 5 years) before filling the examination application. Aadhaar linking with OTR is mandatory. An Application Correction Window will be open from 13th to 15th September 2026 to edit submitted details.

Yes, non-Tamil Nadu residents can apply for TNPSC Group 2 exam. However, candidates must meet the minimum Tamil language proficiency requirements, pass the mandatory Tamil Eligibility Test (Paper I), and will be categorized under the General/Open Competition category regardless of their state caste status.

How to Apply Online for TNPSC Group 2 & 2A 2026?
Candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) before applying for TNPSC Group 2 & 2A Recruitment 2026. Aadhaar linking is mandatory for OTR. Once OTR is done, follow these steps:

- Click "Apply" against Combined Civil Services Examination-II (Group II and IIA Services)
- Log in using your OTR user ID and password
- Verify the personal details displayed from your OTR profile
- Choose your preferred preliminary exam centres (two preferences)

- Upload photograph (taken on or after 11 August 2026) and signature as per the specified format

TNPSC Group 2 2026 Selection Process
This year, the TNPSC Group 2 2026 exam will be conducted in 2 stages for both Group 2 and Group 2A posts.
Stage 1 – Preliminary Exam: Objective-type, common for both Group II and Group IIA. Qualifying in nature; does not count towards final merit.
Stage 2 – Main Exam:
- Group II: Paper I (Tamil Eligibility Test, qualifying) + Paper II (General Studies, Descriptive, counts for merit).
- Group IIA: Paper I (Tamil Eligibility Test, qualifying, Descriptive) + Paper II (General Studies + General Intelligence & Reasoning, Objective/CBT, counts for merit).
Followed by On-screen & physical certificate verification, followed by counselling, based on rank.
