RRB Technician 2026 Short Notification Out (CEN 02/2026), 6565 Posts, Apply Starts on 30 June

RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 Overview

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has initiated the RRB Technician Recruitment for filling  6565 vacancies for Technician (Grade 1 Signal and Grade 3) posts. Interested and eligible candidates can register through online mode from the official website https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/.

RRB Technician Vacancy 2026

For the year 202-27, the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) aims to fill 6565 vacancies for Technician (Grade 1 Signal and Grade 3) posts. For this year, 323 vacancies are for Technician Grade 1 and 6242 are for Technician Grade 3.

RRB Technician 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Certain eligibility requirements must be fulfilled by candidates before applying for the RRB Technician post. These requirements are based on parameters like educational qualification and age limit.

Education Qualification

Candidates must be required to fulfil the educational qualifications for Grade 1 Signal and Grade 3 Posts to be eligible to apply online for RRB Technician Recruitment 2026. The post-wise education qualification is mentioned below in the table.

Age Limit (as on 01/07/2026)

As mentioned in the RRB Technician Notification, the minimum age limit is 18 years, and the maximum age is different for both posts.

1. The age limit to apply for Technician Grade 1 Signal posts is 18 to 33 years.

2. The age limit to apply for Technician Grade 3 posts is 18 to 30 years

3. Upper age relaxation for reserved categories is mentioned below in the table.

Nationality

To be eligible, a candidate must fall into one of the following categories:

1. A citizen of India.
2. A citizen of Nepal or Bhutan.
3. A Tibetan refugee who arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intent to settle permanently.
4. A person of Indian origin (PIO) who has migrated from specific countries (including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Kenya, etc.) to settle in India permanently.
    

RRB Technician Online Form 2026

The online application forms for RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 will be made available at all regional websites for the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB). The RRB Technician Online Form 2026 process will commence from 30th June to 29th July 2026. Candidates must have their inmportant document hadly while completing the application form.

RRB Technician Application Fee 2026

While filling out the RRB Technician Application forms, candidates have to pay the required amount of application fees as per their category. Without an application fee, candidates' application forms will be considered incomplete and will be rejected. Steps to Apply for RRB Technician Recruitment 2026

The registration process for RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 will be commenced at  https://www.rrbapply.gov.in/ and candidates have to submit their applications online. 

1. On the start day of registration process, visit https://www.rrbapply.gov.in/.
2. Create an Account, and register using your basic details (Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile Number, and Aadhaar Card).
3. Verify your account by entering the OTPs sent to your registered mobile number and email.
4. Use your generated registration credentials (or existing login if you recently applied for RRB ALP/NTPC) to log in to the portal.
5. Choose CEN No. 02/2026 (Technician) and select your preferred RRB Zone.
6. Carefully input your personal information, address, category, and educational or technical qualifications (e.g., ITI for Grade III, B.Sc or Diploma for Grade I Signal).
7. Upload scanned copies of your passport-size photograph, signature, and any required category or educational certificates in the prescribed format.
8. Complete the fee payment using online modes such as Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.
9. Review all entered details carefully before final submission, and download or print the confirmation page for future reference.

RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Technician selection process comprises three stages:

Stage 1- Computer-Based Test (CBT):  The test consists of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions with a duration of 90 minutes. 

Stage 2- Document Verification- During this stage, candidates must present original academic certificates, proof of age, technical qualifications (like ITI or relevant diplomas), and community certificates. 

Stage 3- Medical Examination- After passing the document verification, candidates must undergo a medical fitness test conducted by the Railway Administration.

RRB Technician 2026 Exam Pattern 

It is prior for the candidates to understand the exam pattern to know the type of questions, marking scheme, topics to be sked in the exam and other details. Here we have discussed the RRB Technician Exam Pattern for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Grade 3 posts.

RRB Technician Grade 1 Signal CBT Exam Pattern

The first stage of the examination will be CBT and the exam pattern for the same is mentioned in the table and points below. This will help the candidates in better preparation for the exam.

• For the questions left unanswered, no marks will be deducted.
• For the questions answered incorrectly, 1/3 marks will be deducted.

RRB Technician Grade 3 CBT Exam Pattern

• The exam will be held in CBT mode.
• A total of 100 questions will be asked for a total of 100 marks.
• The time duration will be 90 minutes.
• There will be a negative of 1/3 marks for the incorrect answers.

Medium of Examination

In addition to English and Hindi, the RRB Technician CBT exam will be conducted in the following 13 regional languages:

RRB Technician Salary Structure 2026

Appointed candidates for Technician posts will be paid a monthly salary, allowance, and perks. RRB Technician Salary for both Grade 1 and Grade 3 are different. The salary for Technician Grade 1 Signal posts will be Rs. 29,200/- and the salary for Technician Grade 3 posts is Rs. 19,900 as pay level 2.
