It is held to recruit technically qualified candidates for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts across all railway zones in India. Selected candidates are posted to various zonal railways, production units, and other Railway establishments across the country. The RRB Technician exam is a single-stage CBT Exam.

- Career Progression: Clear promotional hierarchy from Technician to Senior Technician, Junior Engineer, and beyond through LDCE/GDCE examinations.
Pan-India Postings: Zonal preference options available during application — you can choose your preferred railway zone. - Perks & Benefits: Free/concessional railway passes for self and family, medical facilities, pension under NPS, quarters (where available), and other Central Government benefits.
