RBI Assistant 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who are willing to apply for the RBI Assistant 2026 Exam must check the detailed eligibility criteria before submitting their applications. Only the candidates who meet the required eligibility will have their applications accepted and will be eligible for this exam.
Educational Qualification (as on 01/02/2026)
A candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 50% (pass class for SC/ST/PwBD candidates) and above in any discipline to be eligible for the RBI Assistant 2026 Exam. He/She must hold knowledge of computers as well as have proficiency in the official language of the concerned state or Union Territory.

Candidates are required to pay Rs. 450 (for General and OBC Candidate) or Rs. 50 (for Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD) as their Application Fee for RBI Assistant 2026 Exam. He/She can pay the application fee online using net banking or by any credit/debit card.

Steps to Apply for RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026
- Go to the RBI’s official portal: www.rbi.org.in and click on the “Opportunities@RBI”.
- Look for the notification titled “Recruitment for the Post of Assistant – Panel Year 2025.
- Click on “Online Application Form” and a new page opens.
- Now click on “New Registration” and enter a valid email ID and mobile number.
- Complete the application form carefully with: Personal information (name, DOB, contact details), Educational qualifications and Category details (if applicable).

RBI Assistant Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
RBI Assistant exam is going to be conducted in three phases-
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Examination
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
The preliminary examination has three sections: Reasoning Ability, Numerical Ability and English Language.
The mains exam has five different sections: Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Language, Computer Knowledge and General Awareness.
There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for the wrong answers attempted by the candidate. No marks will be deducted if the question is left unanswered or blank.
Q. Does the Preliminary Exam score count towards the final selection?
Ans. No, in RBI Assistant recruitment, Preliminary Exam marks are only used for qualifying. They are not counted in the final merit list.
Q. Is there an interview or document verification?
Ans. No interview stage is included; the final selection is based on performance in the Main Exam and clearing the LPT.

Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main online examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). Based on the score of the preliminary examination, students are qualified for the Mains exam. Q. Can a candidate skip LPT if they are strong in exams?
Ans. No, clearing the Language Proficiency Test is mandatory. Even if a candidate scores high in the Main Exam, failure in LPT results in disqualification.

The Basic Pay for an RBI Assistant is Rs. 29,000/- per month in the scale of Rs. 29000– 1700 (3) – 34100 – 2040 (4) - 42260 – 2720 (6) – 58580 – 2950 (2) – 64480 – 3370 (3) – 74590 – 4050 (1) – 78640 and other allowances. In addition to the Basic Pay, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, Transport Allowance, etc., the RBI Assistant is also granted. Thus, the Gross Salary of an RBI Assistant ranges to approximately Rs. 58,514/- every month.
