LIC AAO 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are planning to apply for the LIC AAO Recruitment 2026 Exam, the candidates need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria which are mentioned below:

AAO(Company Secretary)	Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized Indian University/Institution and a Qualified Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI)
AAO (Actuarial)	Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/Institution . Candidates should have passed at least 6 papers of the examination conducted by the Institute of Actuaries of India / Institute and Faculty of Actuaries, UK.
AAO (Insurance Specialists)	Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized Indian University/ Institution and possessing professional qualification in Life Insurance (Fellowship of Insurance Institute of India (Life), having minimum experience of 5 years and above of working in Life Insurance Companies (regulated by IRDAI)
AAO (Legal)	Bachelor’s degree in Law from any University / College recognized by UGC with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent in the aggregate of all semesters/years. For SC/ST and PwBD candidate minimum required marks shall be 45% in Bachelor’s degree in Law in the aggregate of all semesters/years, against vacancies reserved for such candidates

LIC AAO Age Limit

For AAO Generalist, CS, Actuarial, Insurance Specialist- The age of the candidate must not be less than 21 years and must not exceed 30 years.

For AAO Legal, CA- The age of the candidate must not be less than 21 years and must not exceed 32 years.

LIC AAO Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

LIC AAO Selection will be based on a three-phase examination i.e. Preliminary Examination (Phase I), Main Examination (Phase II) and Interview followed by a Pre-Recruitment Medical Examination. Marks obtained in the Main Examination and Interview will be considered for the final merit listing of candidates (Final Selection).

LIC AAO Recruitment 2026 Exam Pattern

LIC AAO is conducted in two phases: Prelims and Mains.

The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination (Phase I) will not be added for the selection and the final selection will be based on the marks obtained by a candidate in Main Examination (Phase II) marks obtained in the Interview.

LIC AAO Prelims Exam Pattern

The Written Exam will contain 3 sections namely: Reasoning, English Language Language, and Quantitative Aptitude. The total duration of the written exam will be 1 hour or 60 minutes. The Preliminary Examination consisting of an objective test will be conducted online. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The test will have three sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:

1. Descriptive tests of the English Language etc. will be of qualifying nature and the marks in the English Language will not be counted for ranking.

LIC AAO 2026 Salary Structure

The salary structure for LIC AAO has also been changed this year. The basic pay of Rs. 88635/- per month in the scale of Rs. 88635- 4385(14)-150025– 4750(4) –169025 and other admissible allowances as per rules. Total emoluments at the minimum of the scale inclusive of House Rent Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance etc wherever admissible depending upon the classification of the city will be approximate Rs 1,26,000 per month in A-Class city.

There is no negative marking in Preliminary exam and English/Hindi Language test will be of qualifying nature and marks in Language section will not be counted for ranking. There will be a negative marking for wrong answers in mains exam and and ¼ marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. One-fourth of the total marks will be deducted for the question marked wrong by the candidate.
