The RRB NTPC exam is a national-level competitive test conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board to hire candidates for non-technical popular categories like Station Master, Goods Train Manager, and Clerks in Indian Railways. 12th pass and graduate candidates are eligible to apply for RRB NTPC Recruitment 2026. The Railway Board has announced 3477 vacancies are for the NTPC (Graduate) category and 1688 vacancies are for the NTPC (Undergraduate) category. Applications for RRB NTPC Graduate level will begin from 8 October 2026 and for Undergraduate level will begin from 15 October 2026 onwards at www.rrbapply.gov.in.

RRB NTPC Notification 2026 Out 

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released RRB NTPC Notification (Short) on 21 September 2026 for 5165 Graduate and Undergraduate Level vacancies. The short notification includes pay level, apply online start and end dates. Candidates who have completed their graduation are eligible for the RRB NTPC Graduate level exam, and those with a 12th pass certificate can apply for UG level posts.

Detailed Notification- The detailed notification for Graduate vacancies will be released on 7 October 2026 with complete details for 3477 graduate-level vacancies. For undergraduate, the detailed PDF will be released on 14 October 2026.

The RRB NTPC 2026 Recruitment is specifically for candidates who hold a 12th pass certificate or a graduate degree from a recognised school board/ university. Through the recruitment, candidates will be recruited for UG-level posts and graduate-level posts, which are as follows-

RRB NTPC 2026- Important Dates

Till now, the registration dates have been announced only for graduate-level vacancies, and the same have been tabulated below. The link for submitting applications for RRB NTPC Graduate (CEN 06/2026) will be active from 8 October to 6 November 2026 (11:59 pm). 

RRB NTPC Vacancy 2026 

A total of 5,165 vacancies have been announced this year for various posts under graduate level and undergraduate level. The post-wise vacancies approved have been tabulated below for your reference.

RRB NTPC Graduate Level Vacancies

3477 graduate posts are announced, and candidates with a minimum educational qualification of a university degree or its equivalent and an age between 18 and 33 years are eligible to apply. The following posts are relevant to the graduate-level exam.

RRB NTPC Under-Graduate Level Vacancies

The Railway Board has released complete zone/PU-wise breakup for both Graduate and Post-Graduate level posts. 

RRB NTPC Vacancy Comparison

Last year, 8868 vacancies were released, wherein 5810 were for the Graduate level and 3058 were for the 12th level. However, this year, the number of vacancies has been reduced to 5165. Before that in 2024, more than 11000 vacancies were released. This shows, the Indian Railways are decreasing the number of vacancies every year. 

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria

Those willing to apply to the RRB NTPC Recruitment 2026 must be eligible as per the minimum eligibility requirements set by the board. The education qualification and age limit for candidates willing to apply for the RRB NTPC Exam are as mentioned below. 

Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold the minimum educational qualification to be eligible to apply for the RRB NTPC 2026 Exam. 

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2027)

The minimum age of the candidates must be 18 years and the maximum age limit is 33 years to be eligible for the upcoming RRB NTPC 2026 Exam.

RRB NTPC Application Fees

The online application process is over now. The RRB NTPC online application fee for General / OBC categories was Rs. 500/. Out of this fee of Rs 500, an amount of Rs 400 shall be refunded, duly deducting bank charges, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.

The RRB NTPC 2026 Recruitment Process will be done by following these steps:

1. First Stage of CBT
2. Second Stage of CBT
3. Typing Test (Skill Test) / Aptitude Test
4. Document Verification
5. Medical Examination

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The recruitment process shall involve 1st Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), 2nd Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT), Typing Skill Test/Computer-Based Aptitude Test (as applicable) and Document Verification/Medical Examination. Selection is made strictly as per merit, based on the above-mentioned recruitment stages.

The languages listed are English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

Note- There will be a negative marking of ⅓rd mark for each incorrect answer.
