The Joint CSIR UGC NET also known as CSIR NET (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test) is a national-level exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) twice a year to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor, and admission to Ph.D. In Indian universities and colleges, subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria laid down by the UGC. The CSIR NET Application Dates and exam dates have been released along with the CSIR NET Notification 2025 on 3rd June 2025. The interested candidates can apply from 3rd to 23rd June 2025.

CSIR NET 2025 Overview

The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research National Eligibility Test (CSIR NET) is organised by the National Testing Agency twice every year in June and December. CSIR NET June 2025 Exam Date 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the Joint CSIR-UGC NET June Examination on 26th, 27th, and 28th July 2025 in computer-based test (CBT) mode at various exam centres throughout the country. The CSIR NET exam will be conducted for papers of Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Earth, Atmospheric, Ocean, and Planetary Science, and Chemical Science.

CSIR NET 2025 Application Form

Candidates can apply online for CSIR UGC NET 2025 through the official website on the official website https://csirnet.nta.ac.in/ or https://nta.ac.in/ on 3rd June 2025. The CSIR NET Application Form has to be filled out by candidates in two parts – Registration and Application. CSIR NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

For an applicant to appear in the CSIR NET 2025 examination, has to follow the below-mentioned eligibility criteria:

  1. Bachelor's degrees, regardless of whether science, engineering, or some other discipline, are eligible for the fellowship solely after getting enlisted/enrolled for a PhD or Integrated PhD program within the legitimacy time of two years.
  2. Enrolled for M.Sc. or have completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying exam are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the category 'Result Awaited (RA)

CSIR NET 2025 Admit Card 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the CSIR NET Admit Card on CSIR NET official website. The CSIR NET Admit Card will be available on the official website along with the details for the exam day. The candidates can download their CSIR NET 2025 Admit Card by following the steps mentioned below-

Step 1: Visit the official website of CSIR NET.
Step 2: Select the ‘CSIR NET Admit Card Download’. Type in your credentials like Application No. and Date of Birth/Password.
Step 3: Click on the submit button and the applicant's CSIR Admit card will be available.
Step 4: Download the admit card and take 1 or 2 printouts for further use.

CSIR NET 2025 Answer Key

Once the exams are conducted, NTA will release the provisional answer key on its website. Candidates will get an opportunity to challenge this answer key. And to do so the candidate has to pay Rs. 1000 per challenged question. After reviewing these challenges, NTA will release the final answer key on its website. You cannot challenge this final CSIR NET Answer Key in any manner whatsoever. 

CSIR NET 2025 Result

Candidates will be given a fellowship as per the CSIR merit list. Only those candidates who will obtain the cut-off will be eligible for the final merit list. NTA will publish two separate merit lists on its website for the result of JRF and Lectureship, respectively. Candidates who qualify in the JRF merit list will also be eligible for the Lectureship/Assistant Professor fellowship. As per the notification, there shall be no re-evaluation of the CSIR NET result.

CSIR NET Cut off 2025 will be released by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) along with the UGC NET Result. The cutoff marks have been released subject-wise and category-wise separately for the Joint CSIR UGC NET for each session separately.
