CSIR NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria 

• The applicants must have completed a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from recognized universities/ institutions.
• Assistant Professor: No upper age limit
• Admission to PhD: There is no upper age limit in applying for the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET for Admission to PhD.
• JRF: Maximum Age: 30 years as on the 1st day of the month in which the examination is concluded (a relaxation of up to 5 years is provided to candidates belonging to OBC-NCL/SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and to women applicants

What are the Posts in CSIR NET?

Through the CSIR NET exam, the candidates are appointed to the post of Assistant Professor or the position of a Research Scholar based on their preference and qualifying marks. The candidates can get the difference between these two positions below:

• Junior Research Fellowship (JRF): The candidates who will qualify for the JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) are eligible to apply for the post of Assistant Professor and Research Scholar.
• Assistant Professors: The candidates qualifying for the eligibility exam for the position of Assistant Professor can apply for the position to teach in different universities/colleges. The candidates can also apply for a PhD.
