NTA UGC NET 2020 Recruitment: UGC NET - National Eligibility Test is conducted twice in a year for selection of deserving candidates for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Indian Govt. Universities and Colleges. NTA UGC NET exam is conducted in the month of June & December every year. As per a recent announcement by the HRD Ministry, the examination will now be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). In fact, UGC NET 2020 June session would be the third exam of the agency (NTA).

UGC NET 2020 Notification

NTA has already the exam calendar for all exam conducted by itself. As per the exam calendar, National Testing Agency (NTA) will release UGC NET 2020 June notification for the post of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) by 16th March ,2020. The online application process for UGC NET June 2020 will be commenced. UGC NET online application window will start on 16th March, 2020. UGC NET 2020 June last date for submission for online Application has been extended from 9th September to 16th April, 2020.

UGC NET 2019 December Offical Notification [Last year]

UGC NET is one of of the popular exam in India. All candidates who have a Master’s Degree OR equivalent examination from universities/ institutions recognized by UGC. Last Year approx. 10.34 lakh candidates registered and 7.93 Lakh candidates appeared for UGC NET CBT (Computer Based Exam) exam to become a lecturer or researcher in their respective fields. The exam will conducted in 224 selected cities across the country.

UGC NET 2020 Exam Date

Exam dates for UGC NET 2020 June has been released along with its official calendar. As per the calendar, UGC NET June exam will be conducted between 15th to 20th June, 2020 in two shifts. The important dates for UGC NET 2020 June are as follows:

The online application for UGC NET 2020 June will start on March 16, 2020. The last date of online application for UGC NET June exam has been extended on April 16, 2020. UGC NET 2020 Application Fee

The application fee of UGC NET exam 2020 is different for all categories. The application fee is not refundable or transferable once paid. It can be paid through credit/ debit card or e-Challan. All the candidates paying through e-Challan have to make the cash payment in bank. The category-wise fee details are mentioned below:

General/Unreserved: Rs. 1000/-
OBC-NCL: Rs. 500/-
SC/ST/PwD/Transgender: Rs. 250/-

Processing charges & Goods and Services Tax (GST) are to be paid by the candidate, as applicable.

UGC NET 2020 Eligibility

Candidates must apply after reading the eligibility criteria to appear in the UGC NET 2020 exam: Here are the broad pointers:

UGC NET: Educational Qualification

- Candidates must have the Master’s degree or equivalent from UGC recognized Universities/Institutions.
- The qualifying exam has to be passed in Humanities (including languages) and Social Science, Computer Science & Applications and Electronic Science.
- Candidates should have scored 55% marks and 50% marks for reserved category students.
- Candidates, those appearing in the final semester of the master’s degree can also apply.
- 5% relaxation is given to Ph.D degree holders in aggregate marks. Such candidates should have a Master’s degree examination which shall be completed by 19th September 1991.

UGC NET: Age Limit and Relaxation

Junior Research Fellowship(JRF) - For Junior Research Fellowship the upper age limit is 30 years as on 1st June 2020.
- Relaxation of 5 years is provided in the upper age limit for OBC-NCL, SC, ST and PwD category.
- Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with L.L.M. degree. A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces upto the first day of the month in which the concerned UGC-NET is to be held.
- Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.

Assistant Professor: There is no upper age limit in applying for UGC-NET for Assistant Professor.

UGC NET: Reservation Policy

Reservation policy of the Government of India is applicable to UGC-NET. According to this, in the Central Universities and Institutions which are deemed to be Universities, 10% of the seats are reserved for the category General-Economically Weaker Section (GEN-EWS), 15% of the seats are reserved for the category Scheduled Caste(SC), 7.5% for the category Scheduled Tribe(ST) and 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer”(OBC-NCL).

Each category will have 4 (four)% reservations horizontally for Persons with Disabilities(PwD) as defined in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act,2016) (source-Press Release by UGC).

UGC NET 2020 Exam Pattern

UGC NET 2020 June Examination shall be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) only. The Online Test will consist of two papers. both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple choice questions. There will be no break between two papers.

Note: For each correct response the candidate will get 2 marks but there is no negative marking for incorrect answer.
