25 Lakh Candidates Applied for CTET February 2026 Exam, CTET Exam on 8 Feb

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Headquarters (CBSE HQ) has officially shared the application statistics for the CTET February 2026 examination through their Twitter account, revealing a response from teaching aspirants across the country. As per official reports, a total of 25,30,436 candidates have completed the application form for the CTET Feb 2026 exam. The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is scheduled for 8th February 2026.

25 Lakh Candidates Applied for CTET February 2026 Exam

A record 25.3 lakh people registered for the CTET February 2026 during the 22-day application period, from 17th November to 18th December 2025. Compared to the previous CTET Exams, where 20,25,554 candidates registered for the July 2024 session and 16,72,748 candidates for the December 2024 session, this represents a significant increase.

The official X handle of CBSE stated, “Registrations significantly increased in the last three days for submitting applications on 16th, 17th, and 18th December 2025; with 193182, 353218, and 414981 applicants applied on these respective dates.”

CTET Exam 2026

Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET), conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), is a mandatory eligibility test for candidates aspiring to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in central government, including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, and other CBSE-affiliated institutions.

The CTET Exam 2026 will be conducted on 8th February 2026 (Sunday) and will be held in two shifts for aspiring school teachers. The Paper 2 will be held in the morning session from 9:30 am to 12 noon, and the afternoon session will be held from 2:30 pm to 5 pm. As per last year’s trends, the admit card for the CTE 2026 exam will be released 2 days before the exam date i.e. 6th February 2026.
