The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is going to conduct the BPSC Teacher Recruitment Exam (TRE) 4.0 Examination 2026 for 32,388 teacher vacancies. The BPSC TRE 4 cycle brings various important changes that every candidate should be aware of before applying for the exam. The BPSC has introduced the two stage of selected process, including a mains exam, with negative marking of 1/3 mark for both stages.

New Changes Introduced in Changes in BPSC TRE 4 Exam 2026

  • Two-Stage Examination – Unlike TRE 3.0, the new TRE 4.0 will have both Prelims and Mains both
  • Preliminary Examination – The candidates will have to qualify the Preliminary Examination to appear for the Main Examination. It will consist of 150 questions for 150 marks. The duration will be two hours.
  • Negative Marking – For the first time, there will be negative marking. 1/3 rd marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Main Examination: Like Prelims, the Main Examination will also have 150 questions for 150 marks. The duration of the examination will be 2 hrs 30 mins.

BPSC Teacher Vacancy Decreased to 32388

BPSC TRE 4.0 will recruit candidates for 32,388 vacancies for Primary Teacher, Middle School Teacher, Secondary Teacher, and Senior Secondary Teacher posts in Bihar state.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Prelims and Mains Exam Introduced

One of the biggest changes in BPSC TRE 4.0 is the introduction of a Preliminary Examination. In the earlier TRE phases, candidates appeared for a single written examination. In TRE 4.0, candidates who qualify the Prelims will be shortlisted to appear for the Mains exam. The GS paper is in both the Prelims and Mains exams, and the Subject Paper is in the Mains exam.

Another major change in TRE 4.0 is the introduction of negative marking. For each incorrect answer, 1/3 mark will be deducted. With negative marking means random guessing lowers your score. You should skip questions unless you know the answer.
