Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced around 46,959 school teacher vacancies to be filled this year through various schools in the state. The announcement has brought relief among teaching aspirants across the state who are eagerly waiting for the next phase of teacher recruitment. On 17th February 2026, the number of vacancies and exam date for BPSC Tre 4.0 have been announced along with the annual BPSC Exam calendar 2026. The exam will be conducted from 22nd to 27th September 2026 across various exam centres in the state.

As mentioned in the calendar, a total of 46,595 vacancies for Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools, Primary and Middle Schools will be recruited through BPSC TRE 4.0 Recruitment 2026. BPSC TRE 4.0 Eligibility Criteria 2026

Before submitting application forms for the BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam 2026, candidates must be aware of the eligibility parameters in terms of educational qualification and age limit. Candidates who don’t meet the required criteria mentioned in the notification, their application forms will not be accepted.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Educational Qualification

Candidates must have completed 12/ graduation/post-graduation from the recognized university to be eligible to apply online for BPSC TRE 4.0 Vcanacy 2026.

For Primary Teachers (Class 1 to 5)

  • Candidates must have completed their senior secondary examination/ 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (OR)
  • Candidates must have completed their senior secondary examination/ 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 04 year Bachelor of Elementry Education (B.EI.ED)
  • Candidates must have passed 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (OR )
  • Graduation with 50 % Marks and 2-year Diploma in Early Education/Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/B.Ed Special education.

For Middle School Teachers (Class 6 to 8)

  • Candidates must have passed 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed 2- year Diploma in Elementary Education/4- year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)/2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). (OR)
  • Candidates must have passed 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appeared in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education. (OR )
  • Graduation with 50 % Marks and 2-year Diploma in Early Education/Bachelor of Education (B.Ed)/B.Ed Special education. (OR)
  • Candidates have completed a Master’s degree in the concerned subject with 55 % marks with 3 yr Bed-Med Course. (AND)
  • B.ED qualified
  • Candidates must have qualified CTET/Bihar TET exam

For Secondary Teacher (Class 9 to 10)

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc/B.A/B.Com) course with at least 45% and pass/appear in senior secondary/B. E.D. with a minimum of 50% marks and candidates have qualified for CTET/Bihar TET exam.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Vacancy 2026 Selection Process

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) will conduct the BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam to recruit eligible candidates for Primary Teachers (Classes 1 to 5), Middle School Teachers (Classes 6 to 8), Secondary Teachers (Classes 9-10), and Senior Secondary Teachers (Classes 11-12) posts. The BPSC TRE 4.0 selection process 2026 comprises the following stages.

Stage 1 – Written Examination– The BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam 2026, 1st stage of the selection process is a written exam, which will be held in offline mode, including objective-type multiple-choice questions.

Stage 2 – Document Verification – Qualified candidates in the written exam will be called to appear for the document verification process, in which candidates’ certificates will be verified by the exam authority.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Exam Pattern 2026

  • The Bihar Teacher Examination will consist of 03 papers. Paper 1 for Language paper, Paper 2 for general studies, and Paper 3 from the subject chosen by the candidates.
  • The exam will consist of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
  • A total of 150 questions will be asked from 150 marks.
  • There will be no negative marking.
  • The time duration for the exam will be 2.30 hours.
