KVS Stenographer Exam Pattern 2025

For a Stenographer Grade-I and Grade-II post, the marks obtained in Tier 2 will be considered for the final selection, but it is subject to passing the required skill test. The exam pattern for KVS Stenographer is as follows:

KVS Stenographer Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2025 (Qualifying)

There are various sections asked in the exam: Reasoning, Maths, Computer, General Knowledge, English, and a Language paper

The Tier 2 is a deciding exam; it has two sections: Objective and Descriptive.

KVS Stenographer Skill Test (Qualifying)

Shorthand Test

Dictation: 10 minutes at 80 words per minute (w.p.m.)

Transcription:

  • English: 50 minutes on computer
  • Hindi: 65 minutes on computer

Candidates must qualify in the shorthand test to proceed to the typing test.

Typing Test

The typing test is conducted only on computer. The minimum typing speed required:

  • English: 40 w.p.m.
  • Hindi: 35 w.p.m.

Computer Proficiency Test (CPT)

The computer proficiency test will be conducted in English & Hindi for 100 marks. Candidates are required to score at least 40 marks to clear the CPT.
