SBI Clerk Prelims Exam Pattern 2026
A preliminary examination (online) consisting of objective tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration, consisting of 3 sections as follows:

Important Points
- Each test will have a separate timing as mentioned above.
- There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- No minimum qualifying marks for the individual subjects as well as for aggregate (overall) are prescribed.
- The adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 10 times the number of vacancies, subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Examination from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.

The structure of the main examination (online objective type) would be as follows:

Important Points
- Each test will have separate timing.
- The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi. There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 1/4th of the mark assigned for the question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
- Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD/XS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon).
- Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be decided by the bank.
- No minimum qualifying marks for individual subjects are prescribed.
- Merit list will be drawn State-wise, category-wise.
- Candidates qualified in the test (main examination) will be placed according to their aggregate marks in descending order in respective States and Categories.
SBI Clerk Local Language Proficiency Test
Candidates who qualify for the SBI Clerk prelims and mains exams and have not studied (in class 10th or 12th) any of the specified local languages of the state they applied to will have to appear in the Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT). The Local Language Proficiency Test is a qualifying test in nature, and the exam pattern for LPT is as follows:

Are marks scored in LLPT counted in final merit list?
Ans- No, the marks are not counted in final selection, as this is a qualifying test only.
