SSC GD Exam Date 2026 Out (Soon), Check Latest Update & Exam Timings

Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the SSC GD (General Duty) Constable exam to recruit candidates for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), including BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, Assam Rifles (AR), SSF, and NCB. SSC GD Exam Date 2026

SSC GD Constable CBT, originally scheduled from 23rd February 2026, has been postponed due to administrative reasons. SSC has confirmed that the revised exam date will be announced very soon on ssc.gov.in. Based on previous SSC GD examinations, the CBT is typically conducted in 3 to 4 shifts per day across 200+ exam centres nationwide.  The selection process includes a CBT exam followed by a physical test, DV and DME, for which admit cards and exam dates will be announced separately.

SSC GD Exam 2026 Shift Timings

SSC GD City Intimation & Admit Card Release Date

SSC has clarified the timeline for the release of exam city intimation slips and admit cards. As mentioned in the official notice, the exam city slips with the scheduled exam date, shift, and city will be released around 7 to 8 days before the exam date, and admit cards will be released 2 to 3 days before the scheduled exam date.

City Intimation Slip – Will be released 8–10 days before the exam. It will include the candidate’s assigned exam city, date, and shift. It is NOT the admit card and cannot be used for entry to the exam hall.

Admit Card – Will be released 2–3 days before the exam on the regional SSC websites. Candidates need their Registration ID / Roll Number and Date of Birth to download it.

SSC GD Selection Process

Candidates shortlisted from the CBE must clear all of the following rounds to be finally selected:

  • Stage 1 – Computer-Based Examination (CBE): 80 questions, 160 marks, 60 minutes
  • Stage 2 – Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Running, long jump, high jump tasks (gender-specific standards)
  • Stage 3 – Physical Standard Test (PST): Verification of height and chest measurements
  • Stage 4 – Medical Examination: Conducted at a designated medical centre
  • Stage 5 – Document Verification: Final check of all original certificates and documents

SSC GD Exam 2026- Preparation Tips

  • Continue revising all four CBT sections; do not pause preparation.
