SSC GD Exam Date 2026 Out for Constable Posts in CAPFs, SSF & Assam Rifles

The Staff Selection Commission of India (SSC) released the SSC GD Exam Date Notice on its official website www.ssc.gov.in. More than 40 lakh applications have been received for Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles, and Sepoy in Narcotics Control Bureau Examination-2026.

SSC GD Exam Date 2026 Out

As per the official SSC GD 2026 Exam Date Notice released by SSC, the online examination will begin from 23rd February 2026. The admit card will be released 4 days before the exam. SSC will also allow the facility for slot booking. The dates for the SSC GD slot booking will begin on 15th January 2026.

SSC GD Shift Timings 2026

SSC GD Computer-Based Examination is expected to be held in multiple shifts each day to ensure the management of the examination for a large number of candidates. As per the previous year’s exam schedule, the exam will be conducted in four shifts each day for 1 hour duration. Check the expected exam schedule from the table below.

SSC GD Slot Selection 2026

To ensure all candidates have a chance to choose their exam slots and centres, SSC will provide the slot selection facility before the exam date. There is no official notice regarding the SSC GD Constable Slot Selection 2026. It is expected that the Slot Selection process for SSC Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Written examination (Computer Based) Examination, 2026 will begin in 1st week of February 2026.

SSC GD Constable Admit Card 2026

Staff Selection Commission of India (SSC) will release the SSC GD Constable Admit Card 2026, 4 days before the exam date. Candidates can get information such as exam date, timing, exam venue, et,c through their respective admit cards. Candidates must keep their login details, i.e. registration number and date of birth, handy while downloading the admit card.

SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern & Selection Process

The first stage of the recruitment process, a Computer-Based Test (CBT), will be conducted to shortlist candidates for physical tests. The exam will consist of 80 multiple-choice questions, each worth 2 marks, for a total of 160 marks. For each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. The duration of the exam will be 1 hour (60 minutes).

Subjects included in the SSC GD CBT Exam are-

1. General Intelligence and Reasoning- 20 questions
2. General Knowledge and General Awareness- 20 questions
3. Elementary Mathematics- 20 questions
4. English/Hindi language- 20 questions

Minimum Qualifying Marks for SSC GD Constable are as follows-

1. UR- 30%
2. OBC/EWS- 25%
3. All other categories- 20%

After qualifying in the 1st stage, the candidates must appear for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Physical Standard Test (PST). Later, the list of finally shortlisted candidates will be released after the medical examination.
