Odisha BEd Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the Odisha BEd Entrance Exam 2026, candidates are advised to make sure they carefully go through the detailed Odisha BEd Eligibility Criteria to know whether they are eligible or not for the exam.

Educational Qualification

• Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Sciences, Social Sciences, or Humanities with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD candidates).
• Candidates with B.Tech/B.E. with specialisation in Science and Mathematics must have secured at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/SEBC/PwD).
• Final-year graduation students may also apply provisionally, subject to passing their qualifying exam before admission.

Age Limit (as on 30/06/2026)

Language Requirement

Candidates must satisfy one of the following Odia language criteria:

• Passed Odia as MIL (Mother Tongue) up to the HSC (Class X) level.
• Passed Odia in a special HSC-standard examination conducted by BSE, Odisha.
• Passed the HSC Examination of BSE, Odisha in Odia medium.

Residential Requirement

Applicants must be permanent residents of Odisha. A valid Permanent Resident Certificate (PRC) is mandatory at the time of admission.
