This year, Reserve Bank of India has invited eligible graduates to apply for 650 Assistant posts and lakhs of aspirants have submitted their applications from across the country. Now to make the examination process, RBI has decided to conduct the prelims exam in total 8 shifts on 2 days which means 4 shifts each day. The duration of the exam is 1 hour and candidates are advised to report to their respective exam centres (as mentioned on their admit cards) at least 1 hour before the exam start time.
RBI Assistant Shift Timing 2026 Out
The RBI Assistant Prelims Exam 2026 for 650 vacancies has been scheduled for 11th and 13th April 2026, and the exam will be held in 4 shifts each day. The duration of each shift is 60 minutes (1 hour), for and the timings for each shift are discussed below.

RBI Assistant Prelims Revised Exam Date 2026
Earlier as mentioned in the official notification, the prelims exam was supposed to be held on a single day, 11th April 2026 but after receiving excessive number of applications from lakhs of candidates, the exam dates has been revised. Now, RBI Assistant Prelims Exam will be conducted on two days 11th April 2026 (Saturday) and 13th April 2026 (Monday). The exam schedule and shift timings has been mentioned on candidate’s respective call letters.
