Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is responsible for conducting the SSC GD Exam 2026 to recuit eligible candidates for General Duty Constable posts in BSF, CISF, CRPF, SSB, ITBP, AR, SSF, and NCB. Candidates who are appearing in the exam must prepare in advance with the latest SSC GD Exam Pattern 2026. SSC GD Exam Pattern 2026
Candidates must note that planning a preparation strategy begins with the knowledge of the detailed SSC GD Constable Exam Pattern 2026. Some important details for SSC GD 2026 are as follows-
- The exam will be conducted in online mode.
- The questions will be of a multiple-choice-based/Objective type.
- The CBT test consists of 4 sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Knowledge & General Awareness, Elementary Mathematics, and English/ Hindi.
- There will be 80 MCQS in total (20 MCQs in each section).
- The time duration to complete the exam is 60 minutes (1 hour), and there is no sectional timing.
- Total marks for the SSC GD CBT Exam are 160 (2 marks for each correct answer).
- A penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer will be imposed.
- The Computer-Based Examination (CBE) is conducted in English, Hindi, and 13 Regional languages, viz. Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.

SSC GD Qualifying Marks
As notified by the commission, there shall be a criterion of minimum qualifying marks in SSC GD Constable CBT Exam and candidates scoring more than that will be considered eligible for short-listing to the next stage i.e. Physical Test (PET & PST). The minimum qualifying marks for each catgeory is as follows-

SSC GD Constable PET Details
The candidates who score more than the cut-off marks for the SSC GD Online exam will be eligible to appear in the Physical Efficiency Test for which the standards have been set by SSC.

Note: Pregnancy at the time of Physical will be considered a disqualification and pregnant female candidates shall be rejected at this stage. The Ex-servicemen who will be shortlisted in Computer Based Examination will have to appear in PET/PST stage for recording measurements of height, chest and weight only. PET will not be held for these Ex-servicemen candidates. Further, they will have to qualify for a Medical Examination (DME).
SSC GD Constable PST Details
The PET will be followed by the Physical Standard Test which will shortlist the candidates on the basis of physical parameters including height, chest size, and vision. The candidates qualifying at this stage will be called for medical examination. The details have been discussed below:
