RRB JE Exam Date 2026 Revised, Check New CBT 1 Exam Schedule & Shift Timings

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB JE Revised Exam Date 2026 for CEN 05/2025 through an official notice at the official website https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/ and other regional websites on 10th February 2026. As per the recent announcement, the Computer-Based Test (CBT 1) will be conducted on three days 19th, 20th, and 25th February 2026 in multiple shifts. 

RRB JE Exam Date 2026 Revised

The RRB JE Computer-Based Exam 2026 will be conducted in computer-based mode for lakhs of candidates who have applied for 2585 Junior Engineer, Depot Material Superintendent, Chemical Supervisor & Metallurgical Assistant vacancies. Along with exam dates, the board has also notified the city of the intimation and admit card release dates.

The shift timings and exam city details has been informed to the candidates through the exam city intimation slips, which has been released on 10th February 2026, and further exam centre details will be informed through admit cards which are to be released by 15th February 2026.

The candidates who have applied for 2585 Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts must check the revised schedule and focus on their revision without any further delay.

RRB JE CBT 1 Exam 2026 Shift Timings

Most probably, RRB JE CBT 1 Exam will be held in three shifts each day, wherein each shift is of 90 minutes (1.5 hour). Based on previous year’s exam, the shift timings are as follows-

RRB JE Selection Stages

RRB JE selection process includes four stages, starting with CBT 1 and ending with final appointment.

1. CBT 1: The test includes 100 questions from Mathematics (30 questions), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25), General Awareness (15), and General Science (30); total duration- 90 minutes, 1/3 negative marking.

2. CBT 2: Main technical exam with Part A (General Awareness, Physics, Chemistry, Basics of IT/Environment, 100 questions) and Part B (trade-specific professional knowledge, 100 questions, qualifying); 150 minutes total.

3. Document Verification: Original certificates and marksheets will be verified checked for education, age, category, and identity proofs post-CBT 2 shortlisting.

4. Medical Examination: Final fitness test assessing vision, hearing, physical standards per post (e.g., A-1 for most JEs); only successful candidates get appointed.
