RRB Junior Engineer Exam Date 2026 Out, CBT 1 exam in 3 Days, Check Official Notice

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on behalf of the Ministry of Railways, has announced the exam date for the 1st stage computer-based test (CBT 1) for recruitment of various posts of JE/DMS/CMA. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the RRB Junior Engineer Exam Schedule for CEN 05/2025 on 7th January 2026 at the official website https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/ and other regional websites.

RRB Junior Engineer Exam Date 2026 Out

The RRB JE Computer-Based Exam 2026 has been announced to be held on 3 days, i.e. on 19th, 20th February and 3rd March 2026 in computer-based mode in three shifts. Along with exam dates, the board has also notified the city intimation and admit card release dates. The shift timings and exam city details will be informed to the candidates through the exam city intimation slips, which will be released 10 days before the scheduled exam date i.e. by 9th February 2026. RRB JE Admit Cards will be uploaded by 15th February 2026.

The candidates who have applied for 2585 Junior Engineer (JE), Depot Material Superintendent (DMS), Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA) posts must check the official schedule and focus on their revision without any further delay.

RRB Junior Engineer Selection Stages

RRB JE selection process includes four stages, starting with CBT 1 and ending with final appointment.

1. CBT 1: The test includes 100 questions from Mathematics (30 questions), General Intelligence & Reasoning (25), General Awareness (15), and General Science (30); total duration- 90 minutes, 1/3 negative marking.

2. CBT 2: Main technical exam with Part A (General Awareness, Physics, Chemistry, Basics of IT/Environment, 100 questions) and Part B (trade-specific professional knowledge, 100 questions, qualifying); 150 minutes total.

3. Document Verification: Original certificates and marksheets will be verified checked for education, age, category, and identity proofs post-CBT 2 shortlisting.

4. Medical Examination: Final fitness test assessing vision, hearing, physical standards per post (e.g., A-1 for most JEs); only successful candidates get appointed.
