Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the official notice regarding the postponement of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) September 2026 exam. The exam, which was earlier scheduled for 6th September 2026, has been postponed to give reasonable time to submit their applications. The revised date will be released soon on the official CBSE CTET website at www.ctet.nic.in.
CTET Exam consists of two papers, Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 is for Classes 1 to 5, while Paper 2 is for Classes 6 to 8. The exam includes questions from Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II, Mathematics, and Environmental Studies.
Why was the CTET September 2026 Exam postponed?
As per reports, the exam has been postponed to provide eligible candidates with an additional opportunity to apply, in the wake of the Supreme Court’s directions that eligible teachers should be given reasonable time to submit their application. The revised date of the 22nd edition of the CTET examination will be announced only after the closure of the re-opened application portal.

What is the Expected CTET Exam Date 2026?
As of now, the CBSE has not announced any revised exam date. Candidates are advised to visit the official CTET website for the latest information regarding the revised exam date, admit card and other related updates. Based on previous trends, it can be expected that the exam will be conducted a few weeks after the closing of the application window. The exam can be held in September 2026.

CTET 2026 Admit Card
As per the official CTET Notification, the CTET Hall Ticket will be released 2 days before the exam date. Candidates will be required to provide their login details to download their respective hall ticket.
