India Post has invited 10th pass candidates for the GDS Online Engagement for more than 23757 Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS), Branch Postmaster (BPM), and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) vacancies. The vacancies are across 23 postal circles, and the online link is shared below.

Steps for India Post Office GDS Apply Online 2026
Candidates must complete the India Post Office Registration and application process in three stages: Registration, Payment of Application Fee, and Online Application. The detailed steps are explained below:
Stage 1: Registration
- Visit the official India Post GDS portal at https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement.
- New applicants need to register themselves on the GDS Online Engagement Portal.
- A valid and active mobile number and email ID are mandatory for registration.
- After successful registration, a registration number and password will be generated.
- Candidates should safely keep these login credentials for use during the application process.
Stage 2: Payment of Application Fee
- Applicants belonging to the General and OBC categories must pay an application fee of Rs. 100 through online payment modes only.
- Female candidates, SC/ST candidates, PwD candidates, and Transgender candidates are exempted from paying the application fee.
- The application fee, once paid, cannot be refunded under any circumstances.
- Candidates are advised to check their eligibility carefully before making the payment.
- Applicants who are exempt from the fee can proceed directly to the online application stage.
Stage 3: Online Application
- After completing registration and fee payment (if applicable), candidates must fill out the online application form.
- Applicants need to verify their registration number and mobile number before selecting the division and setting their preferences.
- A recent passport-size photograph and signature must be uploaded as per the prescribed format and size.

India Post GDS Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be done through the following stages:
- Merit List Preparation – The merit list will be prepared based on the percentage of marks scored in Class 10th, and the marks will be calculated up to four decimal points
- Circle-wise/category-wise merit list – The merit lists will be published separately for each postal circle and category on the board’s official portal
- Document verification – The candidates who have been shortlisted will have to appear in document verification with all the original certificates
- Final engagement – The candidates will be engaged only after they have cleared the document verification round. The engagement will be done in the post of GDS/BPM/ABPM.
