Assam Police SI Selection Process 2025
The selection process for Sub Inspector will consist of the following stages.
- Written Exam: The written test will be 100 marks and conducted in OMR format.
- Physical Standard Test (PST) & Preliminary Medical Checkup: PST checks height, weight, chest (for males) and medical Officer will check for knocked knee, vision, etc.
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET): The PET will be conducted for 40 Marks.
- Oral/Viva-Voce: The oral/viva voce will be conducted for 5 Marks
Assam Police SI Exam Pattern 2025
- The Assam Police SI Exam consists of 100 objective-type multiple-choice questions.
- The exam will be conducted as an OMR-based written test.
- For each correct answer, there is a marking scheme of 1 mark, and for each incorrect answer, 0.5 mark will be deducted.
- The duration of the Assam Police SI Exam is 3 hours and there is no sectional timing for the exam.

Those who clear the written exam are called for the Physical Standard Test (PST) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET) based on merit in the written test. 5 times the number of vacancies in each category will be called.
Documents to Bring for PST & PET: Bring all documents uploaded during online application along with self-attested photocopies. No documents will be accepted after PST & PET.
Physical Standard Test (PST) & Preliminary Medical Checkup
PST involves checking height, weight, and chest (for males). After that, the Medical Officer examines candidates for knocked knees, vision issues, color blindness, flat feet, varicose veins, and other physical deformities. Those who clear PST will move on to the PET.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): 40 Marks
Race marks are awarded based on completion time. For male candidates, the 1600 meters race carries 20 marks if finished within 300 seconds. For female candidates, the 800 meters race carries 20 marks if completed within 160 seconds.
