The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important update regarding the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026. As per the latest update, the CTET Registration portal will reopen on 27th December 2025, at 11 am for the candidates who started the registrtaion process but did not complete or submit. The link will be activated till 30th December 2025, at 11:59 pm; therefore, candidates are advised to submit their applications within this limited time without any failure.
25,30,581 candidates had successfully submitted their applications. Around 3,53,218 candidates applied a day before the deadline, while 4,14,981 applied on the last day itself. The board also confirmed that its helpline services were active throughout the application period, assisting candidates in real time.
CTET Online Registration 2026 Reopens
The board have received several complaints from candidates claiming that they couldn’t complete their applications because the registration portal wasn’t responding properly. Many requested an extension of the deadline to finish their incomplete applications. Around 1,61,127 candidates could not submit or complete their registration, and now the officials will reopen the portal only for those candidates who already registered earlier but did not complete submission can log in and finish their applications.
During this period, only those candidates who had already registered for CTET 2026 earlier but had not completed their submissions can log in and finish their applications. They can also review and edit their details carefully before submission. Once the form is finally submitted, no further corrections or changes will be allowed.

No New CTET Registrations Allowed
CBSE has made it clear that new registrations will not be accepted during this extended window. The facility is only for candidates who had started but not completed their applications earlier.
This decision is expected to bring relief to thousands of applicants who were worried about missing their chance to appear for CTET 2026. The board’s move reflects its student-friendly approach and commitment to ensuring fairness in the examination process.
