SSC CGL Exam 2025 Major Reforms: Exam in Single Shift, Centres Within 100 km Radius

As in the last exams held by SSC, many candidates faced difficulties like computer glitches, non-working devices, Aadhaar verification delays, and, most importantly, far-off exam centres. To resolve all these problems, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has postponed the SSC CGL Exam, and new measures have been introduced to make the exam process smooth.

SSC CGL Exam 2025 New Reforms

In the latest interview of SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan with Navbharat Times (NBT), he addressed that “SSC has introduced some new measures to resolve the problems faced in SSC Selection Post and Stenographer exams.” He also added, “These include improving centre allocation, introducing a fair scoring system, and making Aadhaar verification mandatory. Also, the officials have decided to conduct the SSC CGL Exam in a single shift.” The chairman also said, now, 80% of candidates are getting centres as per their choices. This will rise to over 90%.

SSC CGL Exam in a Single Shift

The commission has decided to hold the CGL exam in a single shift instead of multiple shifts. This ensures that all candidates get the same exam experience and reduces problems caused by different question papers in different shifts. This change aim to make the exam more transparent, convenient, and fair for all candidates across India.

Exam Centres to be Allotted within a 100 km radius

Many candidates in previous exams faced the problem in travelling and reaching their respective exam centres. They had to travel long distances to reach their centres, so to make it easier, now, the commission will allot exam centres within a 100 km radius of the candidate’s address. The details will be provided through SSC CGL Admit Card 2025, which will be released 3 to 4 days before the scheduled exam date.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam Schedule 2025 (New)

Lakhs of candidates who applied for the SSC CGL 2025 Exam were now waiting for the new exam date, which has now been announced officially. The tier 1 exam for SSC CGL 2025 will be held from 12th to 26th September 2025, and the official notice for the schedule is available www.ssc.gov.in.
