SSC Stenographer Selection Process 2026
The selection of candidates for SSC Stenographer Grade C and D posts is based on a computer-based test followed by a skill test. SSC Stenographer CBT Exam Pattern
The computer-based test for SSC Stenographer posts is conducted for a total of 200 marks and the question paper is set in bilingual language i.e. Hindi & English, except for Part III which is in the English language. Have a look at the detailed exam pattern before beginning the preparation for CBT.

- 0.25 marks will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

SSC Stenographer CBE Minimum Qualifying Marks
Minimum qualifying marks in the SSC Stenographer Computer-Based Examination as mentioned in the notification pdf is as follows-

SSC Stenographer Skill Test 2026
Candidates who qualify for the CBT exam are shortlisted for the Skill Test in Stenography. The skill test includes a dictation test and a transcription test. Details for the skill test are mentioned here below.
Dictation
In the dictation test, candidates will be given a dictation for 10 minutes at a speed of 100 words per minute for Stenographer Grade C. Check the table below to get the details of the dictation test for Stenographer Grade D.
