NIACL AO Mains Exam Pattern 2026
- The Mains Exam is divided into 2 parts: Objective & Descriptive type
- Passing both sections is compulsory.
- The total duration of the NIACL AO Mains Exam is 3 hours which is divided as 2.5 hours for objective (sectionally divided) and 30 minutes for descriptive.
- There will be 200 MCQ-type questions and 2 Essay/Letter Writing questions.
- ¼ mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

The duration of the NIACL AO Descriptive Test will be 30 minutes for 30 marks test. It will be a Test of English Language – Letter & Essay writing. NIACL AO descriptive test will be conducted in English and will take place online.

NIACL AO Interview Process 2026
The candidates qualifying for both the Prelims and mains exam will be called for an Interview round, which will be the final selection stage for Administrative Officer posts. The Ratio of the Online Examination and Interview Process will be calculated as 80:20.
