This plan looks ahead to keep the hiring process strong and offer long-term job opportunities. 9,000 Employees Hired in Quarter 1, Aiming to Hire 50,000 More
Within the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26, Railways has given jobs to more than 9,000 candidates by sending them appointment letters, with over 50,000 candidates to join Indian Railways by the end of the year. For selecting candidates, Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) for more than 1.86 crore candidates for 7 job opportunities for over 55,197 vacancies have been conducted solely by the Railway Recruitment Board.
Organising Computer-Based Tests (CBTs) for such a large number of candidates requires proper planning and smooth implementation. The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have made this process easier by allotting exam centres near candidates’ homes, particularly supporting female candidates and persons with benchmark disabilities (PwBD). This initiative helps to minimise logistical challenges and encourages inclusivity. The addition of more exam centres and staff highlights the Railways’ commitment to fair and transparent exam processes.
Ensuring Fairness in the Recruitment Process
For the first time, Aadhaar-based e-KYC authentication has been introduced, successfully verifying over 95% of candidate identities. Additionally, jammers have been deployed across all exam centres to prevent cheating with electronic devices, creating a transparent and equitable testing environment. This dual approach highlights the Railways’ commitment to upholding perfection on a large scale.
