KPSC KAS Selection Process 2024

For a career in Karnataka Administrative Service (KAS) the Karnataka Public Service Commission conducts the KPSC KAS Exam 2024 in three stages:

  • Stage 1: The first stage is the Preliminary Exam: the preliminary exam will have 2 papers based on objective type (MCQs) questions. 
  • Stage 2: The second is the Mains consisting of 7 papers. Only prelims-qualified candidates can appear for mains exam stage.
  • Stage 3: Candidates qualifying in the main stage will appear for the final interview round of the KPSC KAS 2024.

KPSC KAS Prelims Exam Pattern

  • Paper 1 and Paper 2 consist of 100 questions of 200 marks for each paper. 
  • The time duration of each paper is 2 hours. 
  • As per rules, there will be 0.25 negative marks for every wrong answer.

Karnataka KAS Prelims Paper 1

Karnataka KAS Prelims Paper 2

KPSC KAS Paper 2 covers subjects such as General Studies (State Importance), General Science, and Tech. Environment and Ecology, General Mental Ability.

  • General Science and Technology-Broad understanding as may be expected of a well-educated person, Contemporary issues/developments and implications
  • Environment and Ecology- Broad understanding of general issues on biodiversity, climate change, ecology, and health that do not require a subject specialization. 
  • General Mental Ability- Basic numeracy, Data interpretation (data sufficiency, charts, tables, graphs, etc.), Logical reasoning and analytical ability, Comprehension. 

KPSC KAS Main Syllabus 2024

Candidates who qualify upcoming prelims examination will have to appear for mains exam. To ace the exam with flying colors, candidates must know subject-wise topics they need to prepare along with exam duration which is specified in the KPSC KAS Syllabus 2024 for mains exam and its exam pattern.
