The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) conducts the EPFO Social Security Assistant (SSA) exam to recruit qualified candidates for the positions of Social Security Assistants and Stenographers. EPFO SSA Selection Process 2026

The candidates undergo 2 phases of the selection process of EPFO SSA Recruitment 2026, which are the Computer-based exam and the computer skill test. The candidates who will qualify in the 2 stages will be recruited as Social Security Assistants (SSA) & Stenographers.

  1. Computer-Based Test (Phase-I)
  2. Skill test (Phase-II) (Computer Data Entry Test)

EPFO SSA Exam Pattern 2026

  1. EPFO SSA prelims examination comprises 150 questions for 4 marks each. The total time duration prelim exam is 2 hour 30 minutes (150 Minutes).
  2. There is a negative marking of 1/4 for each incorrect answer.
  3. EPFO SSA Prelims exam will be objective type and after qualifying for the examination candidates will be eligible for the phase 2 (Skill test).

EPFO SSA Skill Test 2026

EPFO SSA Skill test is qualifying in nature, marks obtained in the skill test will not be considered for the merit list. The candidates who are qualified in the CBT examination will be called for a skill test. The authorities test the accuracy and speed of the candidate for data entry work. A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer. 35 words per minute and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depression Per Hour (KDPH) / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word for Data Entry Work.

EPFO Steno Exam Pattern 2026

  1. The question paper will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice only.
  2. The questions will be set both in English and Hindi except part-III i.e. English Language and Comprehension
  3. There shall be a negative marking of one-fourth marks for each incorrect answer.
  4. Each correct answer carries 4 marks.

EPFO Steno Skill Test 2026

Dictation: 10 minutes at the rate of 80 words per minute. (Dictation will be computer based)

Transcription: 50 minutes (English) / 65 minutes (Hindi). (Only on computer)
