HP JBT Teacher Recruitment 2026 Eligibility

Candidates who want to apply for HPRCA JBT Recruitment 2026 must meet certain educational qualifications and age limit requirements. The requirements for the Junior Basic Teacher are explained below:

Educational Qualification

Candidates must have any one of the following qualifications to be eligible for HP Junior Basic Teacher Recruitment 2026:

  • 10+2 or Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. course from an institute affiliated with HPBOSE.
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed. (by any name).
  • Senior Secondary with at least 45% marks and a 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed., as per NCTE Regulations, 2002.
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 4-year B.El.Ed. degree.
  • Senior Secondary with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Special Education.
  • Graduation along with a 2-year JBT/D.El.Ed.
  • Post-Graduation with at least 55% marks and a 3-year integrated B.Ed-M.Ed.

TET Requirement: Candidates must have passed the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the HP Board of School Education (HPBOSE), Dharamshala, or any other agency authorized by the Government.

Age Limit (1/1/2026)

Candidates must be between 18 and 47 years of age. The upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Classes, the Persons with Disabilities, and the Children/Grandchildren of Freedom Fighters of Himachal Pradesh, as per government rules.

  • Pay the application fee using the online payment options provided.
  • Once payment is successful, your application will be submitted and complete.

HPRCA JBT Selection Process 2026

The selection process for the HPRCA JBT Recruitment 2026 consists of a single-stage examination.

  • The exam will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), with each question valued at 0.5 marks
  • The Computer-Based Test (CBT) or a written screening test, carrying a total of 120 marks.
  • The total duration of the test will be 1.5 hours.
  • The paper is divided into two sections:
