GATE 2026 Answer Key and Response Sheet Out, Download Link at goaps.iitg.ac.in

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati has officially released the answer key for the GATE 2026 Exam at the official website https://goaps.iitg.ac.in/login. Candidates who participated in the entrance exam can download the GATE 2026 Response Sheet along with the master question paper from the GOAPS login window.

Candidates can follow these simple steps to access and download the GATE 2026 Answer Key:

  1. Visit the official GATE 2026 website at www.gate2026.iitr.ac.in
  2. Click on the “Answer Key” link available on the homepage
  3. Log in using your GATE 2026 enrollment ID and password
  4. Select your paper/subject from the dropdown menu, and the provisional answer key is displayed on the screen
  5. Download or save the PDF for future reference.

GATE Answer Key 2026 Objection Window

Along with the release of the provisional answer key, IIT Roorkee has also opened the Answer Key Challenge Window. Candidates who believe that a particular answer in the official key is incorrect or needs correction can raise objections through the official portal. The objection window is typically open for a few days following the answer key release.

To raise a challenge, candidates must:

  • Log in to the official GATE portal
  • Navigate to the “Answer Key Challenge” section
  • Select the question they wish to challenge
  • Upload supporting documents or references, if applicable
  • Pay the applicable fee per challenge (usually non-refundable unless the objection is accepted).

Marking Scheme for GATE Exam 2026

The GATE Exam 2026 consists of 30 papers for various branches of engineering and science. Each paper comprises 65 questions, including 10 questions from General Aptitude. 3 hours to complete the exam.

How to Calculate Marks Using GATE Answer Key 2026?

By following the steps below, candidates can estimate their GATE 2026 score and assess their chances of qualifying for the GATE Exam.

  • The candidate has to tally the total negative marks for wrong attempts. (Only Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) will have negative markings. There will be no negative marking for NAT questions.
  • MCQ Marks: Total marks (1 mark) + Total marks (2 marks)
  • 01 Mark Question = 1 * no. of correct attempts – 1/3 * no. of wrong answer.
  • 02 marks Questions = 2 * the number of correct attempts – 2/3 * the number of wrong answer
  • Total Marks=(Correct 1- mark answers * 1)−(Incorrect 1-mark answers * 1/3​)+(Correct 2-mark answers * 2)−(Incorrect 2-mark answers * 2/3)

What’s Next After GATE Answer Key?

After the release of the provisional answer key and the objection period, IIT Roorkee will release the GATE Final Answer Key after reviewing all challenges. Based on the final answer key, the GATE 2026 Results will be declared, expected on 19th March 2026. The GATE scorecard will be available for download on 27th February 2026, and will remain valid for three years for admissions and PSU recruitment purposes.
