Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has released the JTET Notification and Application dates for Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test 2026. JTET is a state-level eligibility exam conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions in primary (Classes 1–5) and upper primary (Classes 6–8) schools across the state. The application process, including registration, document upload, and fee payment, will be conducted entirely online through the official website from 21st April 2026 onwards.
Jharkhand TET 2026 Exam Summary
Candidates must note that only B.Ed and D.El.Ed-trained candidates are eligible to apply for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test. The validity of the certificate received after qualifying for the test is for a lifetime, and there is no restriction on the number of attempts.

Jharkhand TET Notification 2026 Out
The detailed notification for Jharakhand Teacher Eligibility Test 2026 has been released on 28th March 2026 at the official website www.jac.jharkhand.gov.in. Candidates who are interested in applying for the eligibility test this year must go through the official notification PDF and press release uploaded by Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC).
Jharkhand TET 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates need to be eligible for the JTET 2026 exam as per the eligibility norms specified by the official authorities. The eligibility criteria for Papers I and II vary and are specified below. Age limit and educational qualifications are considered for evaluating eligibility for teachers’ posts in primary and upper primary classes.
For Paper I
The first paper for the Jharkhand TET examination will be held for candidates who want to become teachers for classes I to Vth. So, the eligibility criteria for Paper I are specified below.

What is JTET certificate validity?
The Jharkhand TET qualifying certificate holds lifetime validity for all categories. As per the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) guidelines, the validity was extended from seven years to a lifetime.
JTET 2026 Application Fee
While submitting the application forms, candidates will be asked to fill out the examination fee/application fee as per their respective categories. Those belonging to primitive tribes have to pay Rs. 600/- while applying for both primary and upper primary classes.

Jharkhand TET 2026 Exam Pattern
Before beginning the preparation for the examination, candidates need to first check out the exam pattern. This will help you decide which topic has more weightage and needs to be prepared thoroughly. Candidates will get to know about the marking scheme, type of questions, exam duration, etc from the exam pattern mentioned in the notification.
Paper I-Exam Pattern
JTET 2026 Paper I will be conducted for a total of 200 marks and will be conducted as an OMR-Based examination. For every correct answer, candidates will be rewarded +1.

Paper II- Exam Pattern
The second paper for Jharkhand Teachers Eligibility Test 2026 will include 250 objective-type questions covering diverse subjects. Candidates need to attempt the examination in 2 hours and 30 minutes.

Minimum Qualifying Marks
