EMRS PGT Selection Process 2026

To be selected for 1460 Post Graduate Teacher (PGT) vacancies, candidates have to undergo the 2-stage selection process i.e., Tier 1 and 2. Tier 1 is qualifying in nature, and the final merit list for the post of TGT will be prepared based on the performance in the Tier II examination only.

• Tier -I -Preliminary (Qualifying) Examination
• Tier-II – Subject Knowledge Examination

EMRS PGT Exam Pattern 2026

To excel in this EMRS PGT Exam, candidates need to be familiar with the latest EMRS PGT Exam Pattern 2026. It is held in two stages: Tier 1 and Tier 2. With the help of the exam pattern, candidates can know the type os questions, topics asked in the exam, marking scheme, and other details.

EMRS PGT Tier 1 Exam Pattern 2026

• The exam will be conducted for a total of 100 marks + 20 Language Competency Test
• Exam Duration: 120 minutes (2 hours)
• Each question carries 1 mark.
• There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer.
• Language Competency Test is qualifying in nature, with a minimum of 40% marks in each language. If the candidate didn’t qualify in the Language Competency Test, then other subjects will not be evaluated.

EMRS PGT Tier 2 Exam Pattern 2026

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the ratio of 1:10 against the notified vacancies
Based on the Tier I Preliminary examination, you will be shortlisted for the Subject Knowledge Examination.
