RRB Technician Short Notification 2026 OUT (CEN 02/2026), 6565 Grade 1 & 3 Vacancies

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) on behalf of the Ministry of Railways has announced 6565 Grade 1 and Grade 3 vacancies for which a short indicative notice has been released on 18th May 2026. The notification with the number of vacancies, registration dates, salary, and age limit has been released in employment newspapers, and a detailed notification PDF with complete details will be released soon at all regional websites.

The notification for CEN 02/2026 has been released for Technician Grade 1 Signal and Technician Grade 3 posts. Interested and eligible candidates must check the details mentioned in the notification from the attached image below.

Railway Technician Vacancy 2026

As mentioned in short notification, through RRB Technician CEN 02/2026, a total of 6565 Technician vacancies are to be filled out of which 323 are for Grade 1 Technician and 6242 are for Grade 3 Technician posts. RRB Technician 2026 Exam- Overview

Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) is all set for RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 for 6565 vacancies for the year 2026, as approved by the Indian Railways. The selection will be done through Computer-Based Test (CBT), Document Verification, and Medical Examination.

RRB Technician 2026- Important Dates

With the release of a short notification, the registration dates have been announced. The window to submit the application will be opened from 30th June to 29th July 2026. 

Eligibility Criteria for RRB Technician

Education Qualification For Technician Grade 1 Signal:

• The candidates must hold a B.Sc. in Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/IT/Instrumentation or a Degree/Diploma in Engineering. OR
• B.Sc. in a combination of any sub-stream of basic streams of Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/Information Technology/Instrumentation from a recognised University/Institute OR
• Three-year Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of the above basic streams (OR)
• Degree in Engineering in the above basic streams or in combination of any of the above basic streams.

Education Qualification For Technician Grade 3:

• The candidates must have completed their Matriculation/SSLC plus ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trade of Forger and Heat Treater/Foundryman / Pattern Maker / Moulder (Refractory). (OR)
• Matriculation/SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the related trades.

Age Limit (as on 01/07/2026)

• Technician Grade 1: 18 to 33 years
• Technician Grade 3: 18 to 30 years

Application Fee

• For Candidates belonging to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backwards class– Rs. 250
• Other Categories- Rs. 500

RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

All the candidates who are willing to apply to the RRB Technician Recruitment 2026 should be aware of the selection stages that they will have to pass to be hired for this role. There will be 3 stages in the selection process for RRB Technician posts. The candidates will first have to clear the CBT examination. Selected candidates after the CBT round will be called up to submit their documents for verification during the Document Verification and Medical Examination.
