UPSC CAPF Notification 2026 Postponed
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the CAPF Assistant Commandant examination every year to recruit officers in various paramilitary forces. The release date for UPSC CAPF Notification 2026, as mentioned in the annual calendar, was 18th February 2026, but didn’t released as per the schedule.
However, on the official website, it has been notified that “The Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2026, scheduled to be notified on 18.02.2026, has now been postponed due to administrative reasons and the same will be notified in due course”.

What is UPSC CAPF AC Exam?
The CAPF Assistant Commandant exam is a prestigious national-level examination which is conducted annually to recruit Group A Gazetted Officers in the Central Armed Police Forces (India’s paramilitary forces), including:
- BSF (Border Security Force)
- CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force)
- CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)
- ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police)
- SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal)

UPSC CAPF Exam Pattern 2026
- UPSC CAPF Exam consists of 02 papers. Paper 1 and Paper 2.
- Paper I will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) with a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each wrong answer, and Paper II is in a descriptive format.
- Paper I is of 2 hours duration, and Paper II is of 3 hours duration
- Papers I & II will be in bilingual language & English, excluding the English paper
- Paper I is a qualifying stage. Only those candidates who qualify for the Paper 1 exam will be checked for the Paper 2 exam.
