The Intelligence Bureau (IB) has released a total of 455 vacancies for Security Assistant/Motor Transport (SA/MT). On behalf of IB, the Ministry of Home Affairs will conduct the recruitment for which two stages of the selection process is a Written Exam Tier 1 & Toer 2. The selection process for the post of SA/MT includes four stages, i.e., Tire I (Written Exam), Tire II Exam, Document Verification, and Medical Examination. IB SA Motor Transport Exam Pattern 2025
The selection process is conducted in two tiers, i.e., Tier I (Written Test) and Tier II (Driving Test & Interview). Candidates must qualify in both stages to move forward in the selection process.
Tier-I: Written Examination (Objective Type)
The Tier-I exam is an online objective-type test that evaluates candidates’ proficiency in subjects such as General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English Language, and Basic Transport/Driving Rules. It consists of 100 questions carrying 1 mark each. The total duration of the exam is 1 hour. There will be a negative marking of 1/4 mark for each incorrect answer.

Tier-II: Motor Mechanism & Driving Test cum Interview
Candidates who qualify for Tier I will appear for the practical test and interview.
- Driving Test: Candidates will be required to drive a motor vehicle as per instructions. Their ability to handle the vehicle smoothly and safely will be assessed.
- Motor Mechanism Knowledge: Practical knowledge of identifying and removing minor defects/snags in the vehicle, along with upkeep & maintenance, will be tested.
- Interview: General personality, communication skills, and suitability for the job will be evaluated.
