RRB ALP Preparation Tips 2026
The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released CEN No. 01/2026 for 11,127 Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) vacancies. This is one of the most competitive railway exams in India, attracting more than 30 lakh applicants every cycle. Preparation must begin early and be systematic to stand out.
The ALP role is a Group C Gazetted post under Indian Railways, offering job security, a structured pay scale (Pay Level 2: Rs. 19,900–63,200), and regular promotions. Understanding what you are competing for helps keep motivation high throughout preparation.
Why early preparation matters: With 11,127 seats and millions of applicants, only the top rankers from each RRB zone get selected. Even a difference of 2–3 marks can determine whether you clear the cut-off. Consistent, early preparation is your biggest advantage.
