AP TET Educational Qualification
The educational qualification for teacher posts is based on the AP TET Notification is mentioned below.
Primary Teachers
1. Intermediate /Senior Secondary with minimum 45% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
2. 5% relaxation or such percentage as permitted by the Andhra Pradesh Government at the time of teacher education course admission regarded in minimum qualifying marks at intermediate/ Senior secondary level is suitable for SC/ ST/ Differently abled aspirants.
3. Intermediate /Senior Secondary with minimum 50% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of 4 years Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. E/. Ed).
4. Intermediate /Senior Secondary with minimum 45% marks and pass in or pursuing the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education).
5. NCTE guidelines of August 2010 quote that aspirants who qualified prior to August 2010 are eligible with the above-said qualification or percentage of marks.
6. B.Sc./ B.A. /B. Com pass or pursue the final year of a 2-year diploma in elementary education.
Upper Primary Teachers
1. B.Sc./ B.A./ B.Com. Pass with a minimum of 45% marks and pass in or pursue the 1-year bachelor in education.
2. 5% Relaxation in minimum qualifying marks in 12th Class/ Senior Secondary level is allowed for ST/ SC /Differently abled candidates.
3. The quantum relaxation in terms of Andhra Pradesh state government orders provided at the time of respective teacher education course admission with qualifying marks in B.A/ B.com / B.Sc degree is allowed for ST/ SC/ BC/ Differently abled candidates.
4. If the aspirants have not secured the requisite amount of percentage in bachelor’s degree but secured post-graduation in relevant school subjects, she/he will be eligible for applying for paper 2 (a) (b).
5. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. Pass with at least 50% marks and pass in or pursue 1 year B. Ed Special Education Course.

AP TET 2026 Exam Pattern

AP TET 2026 Paper-I Syllabus
- The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the primary level.
- Language–I of AP TET Paper-I: Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, and Odiya are offered as First languages in the schools under the state's syllabus. Candidates have to choose among these 6 languages, and he/she must have studied that language as a study medium or first language up to class X.
- The candidates who studied the CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X.
- Language II shall be English for all the candidates.
- The syllabus for Language-I & II shall be based on Proficiency in the Language, Elements of language, communication and comprehension abilities.
- The syllabus for Mathematics & Environmental Studies is designed based on topics of Classes I to V.
AP TET 2026 Paper-II(A) and Paper-II(B) Syllabus
- The test portions on Child Development & Pedagogy will focus on the Educational Psychology of teaching and learning relevant to the Elementary level for Paper-II (A) Physical Education Pedagogy for Paper-II (B) will focus on the Elementary level.
- As Language-I other than Language teachers have to choose between Telugu, Urdu, Kannada, English, Hindi, Tamil, Odiya, and Sanskrit, Candidate must have studied the chosen language as a study medium or first language up to class X.
- The candidates who studied CBSE/ ICSE curriculum can choose the Language which they studied up to Class X.
- Language Teachers have to choose the Language of their study in Pandit Training concerned under Language-I of TET Paper II-(A).
- For Physical Education Teacher a candidate has to choose one among five Languages Telugu, Urdu, Tamil, Odiya, and Kannada as Language I of TET Paper-II (B).
- The syllabus for Language-I & II for Paper-II(A) shall be based on proficiency in the Language, Elements of Language, Communication and Comprehension abilities.

AP TET 2026 Exam Centres
Candidates need to choose their district of their choice. If the session capacity of a particular district or centre is exhausted, then the candidate needs to select another date and session at the available districts. If a candidate fails to opt examination centre on the prescribed date, the education department will allot the centre. The allotment of centres is at the discretion of the department and a request for a change of centres or exam sessions is not allowed under any circumstances. Candidates are allotted the exam centre from among the 5 preferences given by them.

AP TET 2026 Merit List
1. After the written exam is completed the board authorities plan to announce the TET merit list. The board authorities issue the Andhra Pradesh TET 2026 merit list on their web portal. After the exam is completed for 15 days the board authorities declare the eligibility test merit list. The AP state board authorities may issue the exam merit list on the official website. Once the board issues the exam merit list in the candidate visit the official site and check the test merit list. After a few days, the board prepares the AP TET Merit list 2026. The board authorities prepare the merit list by using the cutoff marks. The state board authorities issue the selected list file on their portal.
