Osmania University is responsible for hiring eligible candidates who wish to serve as Lecturers or Assistant Professors in the universities and colleges of Telangana. Selection of these candidates is done by conducting a Telangana State Eligibility Test (TS SET) which will be conducted in 10 old districts of Telangana. It is important to understand TS SET Syllabus 2024 to prepare for this eligibility test and get hired for these posts. TS SET Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2024

The candidates who are appearing in the TS SET exam 2024 on the 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th of September 2024 must go through the new syllabus and pattern of exam in detail. Every candidate must prepare the entire syllabus to pass the exam with flying colors. TS SET Selection Process 2024

As mentioned earlier, the TS SET Exam is only a qualifying eligibility test. After qualifying the same, candidates will have to undergo the post-specific selection process determined by the university or college for which they are applying. This may include one or more of the following stages: 

  •     Paper I 
  •     Paper II 
  •     Interview
  •     Teaching Demo
  •     Document Verification

TS SET Exam Pattern 2024

There will be two papers in Telangana State Eligibility Test i.e. Paper I and Paper II, and candidates must be aware of marking scheme, type of questions, exam duration, etc. of both papers. This will help them prepare for their upcoming examination more easily helping them focus on subjects with more weightage.

TS SET Paper I Exam pattern

Paper I shall consist of 50 objective-type compulsory questions each carrying 2 marks, candidates can get to know about complete exam pattern for first paper from below.

  • Questions that will be asked in this paper will test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness of candidates.
  • No marks will be deducted for wrong or un-attempted questions.
  • The TS SET 2024 question paper will be bilingual i.e. in both English & Telugu language.

TS SET Paper II Exam pattern

Paper II will consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions and will be conducted for a total of 200 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.

  • All the questions of Paper II will be compulsory, covering the entire syllabus.
  • There is no negative marking for the incorrect answer.
  • For every correct answer, +2 will be rewarded to candidates.
  • This exam will be conducted for 2 hours (120 minutes).

TS SET Syllabus 2024

TS SET Exam 2024 will include two papers i.e. Paper I and Paper II which will be conducted in a single session for 3 hours. Those who want to appear for this examination, need to properly understand its syllabus to do good preparation for the exam. TS-SET examination will be conducted for a total of 29 subjects. TS SET Paper I Syllabus 2024

As mentioned above, this examination will include general questions based on teaching and research aptitude so candidates must study topics like communication, logical reasoning, data interpretation, comprehension, etc.

  • Teaching Aptitude:- Nature, Objectives, Characteristics, Basic Requirements, Learner, Characteristics, Factors Affecting Teaching, Teaching Methods, Teaching Aids, and Evaluation System.
  • Research Aptitude:- Meaning, Characteristics, Types, Steps of Research, Methods of Research, Research Ethics, Paper, article, workshop, seminar, conference, and symposium, and Thesis writing: its characteristics and format. 
  • Comprehension 
  • Communication:- Effective Communication, Barriers to Effective Communication, and Media and Society.
  • Mathematical Reasoning and Aptitude:- Type of Reasoning, Number series, letter series, codes, and relationships, and Mathematical Aptitude
  • Logical Reasoning:- Understanding the structure of arguments, Evaluating and distinguishing deductive and inductive reasoning, Analogies, Venn Diagram, Indian Logic, Pramanas, Structure and kinds of Anumana (inference), Vyapati (invariable relation), Hetvabhasa (fallacies of inference).
  • Data Interpretation:- Sources, acquisition, and interpretation of data, Quantitative and Qualitative data, Graphical representation and mapping of data Data and Governance. 
  • Information and Communication Technology:- Meaning, Advantages, Disadvantages, Uses, Basics of Internet, Digital Initiatives in Higher Education, ICT and Governance.
  • People, Development and Environment:- Development and Environment, People and environment interaction, Pollutants and their impact on human life, Environmental issues, Natural and Energy Resources, Natural Hazards and Disasters, Environmental Protection Act 1986. 
  • Higher Education System:- Evolution of Higher Learning and Research in post-Independence India
    Professional, Technical, and Skill-based Education, Value Education, and Environmental Education
    Policies, Governance, and Administration, Oriental, Conventional, and Non-conventional learning programs in India.
