The Railway Board has approved 372 Nursing Superintendent (Nursing Officer) vacancies for this year. The Ministry of Railways issued an official letter (No. 2026/E(MPP)/25/13/Paramedical) approving vacancies for a new Centralized Employment Notification (CEN).

The eligibility requirements for the candidate’s age, medical fitness, and educational qualification are mentioned here in detail.

Education Qualifications

• Candidates who have completed and have their certificate for the GNM Nursing course are eligible for Staff Nurse posts.
• Those who have done and completed their BSc/MSc Nursing Degree from a recognized institution/university in India are also eligible for the post.
• Must be a registered Nurse and Midwife under the respective State Nursing Council.

Age Limit

• Minimum Age- 20 years
• Maximum Age- 40 years

Some years of age relaxations are provided to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Medical Standards

Some visual standards are necessary to be fulfilled for RRB Nursing Officer Recruitment. The medical standard for the post is C1 which is specified below.

B-1 Standard: Must be physically fit in all respects.

• Distance Vision: 6/9 in one eye and 6/12 in the other, with or without glasses (lens power not exceeding ±4D).
• Near Vision: Sn. 0.6 in both eyes, with or without glasses.
• Additional requirements: Color vision, binocular vision, night vision, and mesopic vision tests.

C-1 Standard: Must be physically fit in all respects.

• Distance Vision: 6/12 in one eye and 6/18 in the other, with or without glasses.
• Near Vision: Sn. 0.6 in each eye, suitable for reading or close work, with or without glasses.

C-2 Standard: Must be physically fit in all respects.

• Distance Vision: 6/12 in one eye and nil in the other, with or without glasses.
• Near Vision: Sn. 0.6, combined vision in both eyes, suitable for close work, with or without glasses.

• General/OBC: Rs. 500 (Rs. 400 will be refunded after CBT)

RRB Nursing Superintendent Salary

The pay level for the Nursing Superintendent (Nursing officer) post is Pay Level 7, with a starting basic pay of Rs. 44,900. Along with this, various allowances, including Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance, and other benefits as per government regulations, are also provided to the selected candidates.
