What Factors are Considered to prepare IBPS SO Prelims Cut Off?
The IBPS SO cut-off is not fixed in advance. IBPS determines the qualifying marks after considering several factors.
Difficulty level of the examination: A difficult paper may result in a comparatively lower cut-off, while an easier paper can push the cut-off upward.
Number of vacancies: A higher number of vacancies can reduce competition for available posts, whereas fewer vacancies may increase the cut-off.
Number of candidates appeared: The number of candidates competing for a particular post directly affects the competition.
Candidates’ performance: If a large number of candidates score high marks, the cut-off may increase.
Post applied for: IBPS SO cut-offs are different for IT Officer, AFO, Law Officer, HR/Personnel, Marketing Officer and Rajbhasha Adhikari.
Category: The cut-off is released separately for categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS, UR, and applicable PwBD categories.
Normalization: Since examinations may be conducted in multiple shifts, scores may be normalized as per IBPS procedures.
