The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the short notification on 30th August 2026 for the recruitment of Office Assistants (Clerk), Officer Scale-I (PO), Officer Scale-II and Officer Scale-III in Regional Rural Banks (RRB) across India. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct the recruitment under CRP RRBs-XV.
The RRB PO Prelims 2026 will be conducted on November 21 and 22, 2026, and the RRB Clerk Prelims 2026 will be held on December 6, 12 and 13, 2026, according to the IBPS exam calendar. The Officer Scale II & III Single Examination will be held on 20th December 2026. The detailed notification will contain the final post-wise and category-wise vacancy distribution, eligibility criteria, application dates, fee, exam pattern and other recruitment rules.

Who is eligible to apply for the IBPS RRB Exam 2026?
To be eligible for the IBPS RRB 2026 exam, a candidate is required to fulfill the given eligibility criteria:
Nationality / Citizenship
- a Citizen of India or a subject of Nepal or
- a subject of Bhutan or
- a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to permanently settle in India or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, and the East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit
- For Office Assistant (Multipurpose) – Between 18 years and 28 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1997 and later than 01.09.2007 (both dates inclusive).
- For Officer Scale-I (Assistant Manager) – Above 18 years – Below 30 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1995 and later than 01.09.2007 (both dates inclusive).
- For Officer Scale-II (Manager) – Above 21 years – Below 32 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1993 and later than 01.09.2004 (both dates inclusive).
- For Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager) – Above 21 years and below 40 years, i.e., candidates should not have been born earlier than 02.09.1985 and later than 01.09.2004 (both dates inclusive).
Category-wise Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- PWD- 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen (for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)- the actual period of service rendered in the defence forces + 3 years (8 years for Disabled ExServicemen belonging to SC/ST)subject to a maximum age limit of 50 years
- Widows, Divorced women and women legally separated from their husbands who have not remarried [only for the post of Office Assistant (Multipurpose)]- Age concession upto the age of 35 years for General/EWS, 38 years for OBC and 40 years SC/ST candidates

IBPS RRB 2026 Exam Pattern (Different for All Posts)
IBPS has also released the exam pattern and syllabus for IBPS RRB officer scale 1, 2, 3, and office assistant posts. The exam pattern for selection for the post of Office Assistant is quite different from that of the exam pattern for selection for the post of officer grade.
For IBPS RRB Office Assistant, the exam will be conducted in two phases:
- Preliminary Exam
- Mains Exam
No interview process will be conducted for selecting candidates for the post of Office Assistant. Selection will be made purely on the marks obtained by the candidate in his/her mains examination.
For IBPS RRB PO, the exam will be conducted in three phases:
- Preliminary Exam
- Mains Exam
- Interview
For IBPS RRB Officer Scale 2 & 3, the exam will be conducted in three phases:

- Interview
Note: There is sectional timing for the IBPS RRB PO and Clerk exam.
