New Changes Introduced in Changes in BPSC TRE 4 Exam 2026

Two-Stage Examination – Unlike TRE 3.0, the new TRE 4.0 will have both Prelims and Mains both
Preliminary Examination – The candidates will have to qualify the Preliminary Examination to appear for the Main Examination. It will consist of 150 questions for 150 marks. The duration will be two hours.
Negative Marking – For the first time, there will be negative marking. 1/3 rd marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
Main Examination: Like Prelims, the Main Examination will also have 150 questions for 150 marks. The duration of the examination will be 2 hrs 30 mins.

BPSC TRE 4.0 will recruit candidates for 32,388 vacancies for Primary Teacher, Middle School Teacher, Secondary Teacher, and Senior Secondary Teacher posts in Bihar state.

BPSC TRE 4.0 Prelims and Mains Exam Introduced

One of the biggest changes in BPSC TRE 4.0 is the introduction of a Preliminary Examination. In the earlier TRE phases, candidates appeared for a single written examination. In TRE 4.0, candidates who qualify the Prelims will be shortlisted to appear for the Mains exam. The GS paper is in both the Prelims and Mains exams, and the Subject Paper is in the Mains exam.
