West Bengal Central School Service Commission (WBSSC) aims to fill a total of 35657 vacancies (Revised) for Assistant Teachers for Classes 9 and 10 (Secondary) as well as Classes 11 and 12 (Higher Secondary) under the 2nd State Level Selection Test (SLST). A total of 69 vacancies have been reduced from the Assistant Teacher Post (Class 11 and 12). The WBSSC SLST Interview for Bengali & English subjects is scheduled from 26th November 2025 onwards for all those candidates who declared qualified in the written exam. The subject-wise vacancies for Secondary and Higher Secondary have been shared at the official website of West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC), www.westbengalssc.com. In total, 35657 vacancies (Revised) are officially announced, out of which 23212 are for Assistant Teachers (Class 9-10), and the remaining 12445 (Revised) are for Higher Secondary (Class 11-12)

WBSSC SLST 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are willing to apply for Assistant Teachers for Secondary Classes IX & X and Higher Secondary Classes XI & XII must be aware of the education qualification required and the age criteria to be fulfilled.

Education Qualification

Assistant Teachers for IX & X Classes

a) Graduation / Post Graduation completed from a recognised University with at least 50% marks in either Graduation or Post Graduation (or its equivalent) and Bachelor of Education(B.Ed.) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognised institution, OR
(b) 4–year degree of B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed. from any National Council for Teacher Education recognised institution.

Assistant Teachers for XI & XII Classes

(a) Candidates must have completed their post graduation with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognised University and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) from a National Council for Teacher Education recognised institution; OR
(b) Candidates must have completed their post-graduation with at least 50% marks (or its equivalent) from a recognised University and B.A. Ed/ B.Sc. Ed. from any NCTE recognised institution.

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025)

Candidates must fall in the age group of 21 to 40 years to be eligible to apply for WBSSC SLST Recruitment 2025. The age limit will be counted as on 01/01/2025.

Upper age limit Relaxation

• Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe candidates- 5 years
• Other Backwards Classes candidates- 3 years
• Physically Handicapped Candidates- 8 years

WBSSC SLST Online Form Fill Up 2025

Candidates willing to apply for Assistant Teacher positions in classes IX and X and Classes XI and XII had submitted their applications online at the official website of West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC). WBSSC SLST Application Fee 2025

Candidates must pay the examination application fees (excluding Bank/Other payment-related charges, where applicable). The fee for General & OBC candidates is Rs. 500, and for SC/ST/PH candidates is Rs. 200. Pay the fee online via debit card, credit card, net banking, UPI, or e-challan.

WBSSC SLST Assistant Teacher 2025 Exam Pattern

The candidates have to qualify in a written examination, which is of 60 marks, and afterwards, marks will be counted based on Academic Qualification, Teaching Experience, Oral Interview, and Lecture Demonstration. The marks distribution is as follows.
