WBSSC SLST Selection Process 2026
The West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) State Level Selection Test (SLST) for Assistant Teachers for the Classes IX & XII follows a multi-stage selection process, including a written examination, educational qualification, prior teaching experience, oral interview, and lecture demonstration.

WBSSC SLST Exam Pattern 2026
The first stage of selection will be the WBSSC SLST Exam 2026. The exam will be conducted offline in the OMR method. The exam will include 60 multiple-choice questions, and each question will carry 1 mark. There will be no negative marking, and the time duration will be 90 minutes.

Key Highlights
Written Examination- There will be 60 multiple-choice questions (1 mark each), and the duration of the exam will be 90 minutes. There is no negative marking for incorrect answers. The questions will be of English & Bengali (except language papers).
Academic Qualification- 10 marks will be added based on the grading system: 10 marks for 60%, 8 marks for 50-60%, and 6 marks for below 50%.
Prior Teaching Experience- 2 marks per year (maximum 10 can be counted). Only government/govt-aided experience will be counted.
Oral Interview - This round evaluates the candidate's communication skills and knowledge of their specified subject. Total marks for this round is 100.
Lecturer Demonstration - Candidates must give a teaching demonstration session on the topic provided by the officials.
