CBSE Class 11 Chemistry Syllabus 2021: The Central Board of Secondary Education has released an updated syllabus PDF of Class 11th Chemistry. The syllabus has been divided into two terms, each term Contains 35 marks, and the practical examination of each term contains 15 marks. Term 1 is divided into 7 units on the other hand term 2 is divided into 6 units. The evaluation of class 11th chemistry will be done in two parts. In the first part, students will be evaluated on a theoretical basis while in part-II students will be examined based on practicals they performed in the final examination.   4. Chemical reactions, stoichiometry, and calculations based on stoichiometry.

Class 11th Chemistry Syllabus- Unit 2 (Structure of Atom)

  1. Bohr’s model and its limitations
  2. The concept of shells and subshells, dual nature of matter and light
  3. De Broglie’s relationship, Heisenberg uncertainty principle, the concept of orbitals
  4. Quantum numbers, shapes of s, p, and d orbitals
  5. Rules for filling electrons in orbitals – Aufbau principle
  6. Pauli’s exclusion principle and Hund’s rule

CBSE Class 11 Practical Evaluation Scheme for Term-I

A 15-mark Practical would be conducted under the supervision of a subject teacher. This would contribute to the overall practical marks for the subject.  OR  In case the situation of lockdown continues until Nov-Dec 2021, a Practical Based Assessment (pen-paper) of 15 marks would be conducted at the end of Term-I.

CBSE Class 11 Practical Evaluation Scheme for Term-II

At the end of Term II, a 15-mark Practical would be conducted under the supervision of a subject teacher. This would contribute to the overall practical marks for the subject. OR In case the situation of lockdown continues beyond December 2021, a Practical Based Assessment (pen-paper) of 10 marks and Viva 5 marks would be conducted at the end of Term II by the subject teacher. This would contribute to the overall practical marks for the subject.
