- Visit the official website of SSB, www.ssb.gov.in.
- Click on the “Apply link” for the Constable (Tradesman/Driver) recruitment.
- Click on the ‘register” button and fill in the basic details with a valid email ID and phone number.
- Candidates will get a newly generated Registration ID and password.
- Log in and fill in all the personal and educational information.

SSB Tradesman Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The SSB Constable selection process is conducted by the Sashastra Seema Bal. During the selection process, SSB consists of several stages to evaluate the physical fitness and academic knowledge of the candidates. Applicant must successfully clear each stage to be considered for the final selection.
- Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test: The first stage of the recruitment process is the PET/PST. This stage tests the candidate’s physical fitness. This is only qualifying in nature.
- Written Examination: The written examination will consist of 100 objective-type questions to test the candidate’s knowledge. Candidates who qualified for the written test will be called for the skill test.
- Skill Test: Shortlisted candidates will be called for the skill test. This test will be conducted for Tradesman posts, and the Driving/maintenance test for the driver post.
SSB Constable Physical Test 2026
SSB Constable Physical Efficiency Test/Physical Standard Test: will be conducted at SSB locations, Board of Officers, as per the administrative details mentioned in the notification PDF.

PET is conducted to assess a candidate’s physical fitness, strength, and endurance through tasks like running.

The written exam will be conducted to select the eligible candidates for various trades such as Barber, Tailor, Carpenter, Veterinary, and Nursing Orderly. Understanding the exam pattern is very important for candidates preparing for the recruitment process.
