Typing Test:

• Must qualify a Punjabi typing test (Unicode compliant font Raavi) and English typing test at 30 words per minute before appointment.

Clerk IT Posts

• Full-time BCA, B.Sc IT, or B.Sc Computer Science degree from a recognized university or institution.

Typing Test:

• Must qualify Punjabi and English typing tests at 30 words per minute
• Must have passed 10th standard Punjabi as per Punjab Civil Services Rules

PSSSB Clerk Recruitment 2026 Selection Process

Punjab, Subordinate Service Selection Board (PSSSB) recruits eligible candidates for the posts of Clerk through a selection process that involves three stages i.e. written examination, typing test, and document verification.

PSSSB Clerk Exam Pattern 2026

The exam pattern for Clerk and Clerk IT posts is as follows:

The test will be conducted in two parts (Part A & Part B):

• Part A: Punjabi language (10th standard level), qualifying in nature. Candidates must secure at least 50% marks to pass.
• Part B: Subject-specific paper

Part B will be a total of 120 marks, carrying 120 questions. Here are some points below, along with a table providing the details for the PSSSB Clerk Exam Pattern 2026.

• The PSSSB Clerk Written Examination will include 120 Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ).
• Each question will carry 1 mark in the PSSSB Written Exam.
• For the wrong answers, there is no negative marking in the exam. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions.
• The total duration of the Clerk Exam is 2 hours/120 minutes.

• Candidates qualifying in the written test will have to appear for a typing test in English and Punjabi (at a speed of 30 words per minute).
• The Punjabi typing test will be conducted in the Unicode-compliant font Raavi.
• The typing test is qualifying in nature.
