The Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has officially announced the written test date for the posts of Excise Constable under CRE-2025 (II). OSSSC Excise Constable Vacancy 2026

Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has announced a total of 574 vacancies for Excise Constable posts under the Excise Department of the Government of Odisha. Out of the total vacancies, 382 are released for male candidates and 192 for female candidates.

OSSSC Excise Constable Eligibility Criteria 2026

Before applying for the OSSSC Excise Constable Recruitment 2026, candidates must refer to the age and educational requirements as explained below. Applicants must fulfil the following qualifications to become eligible for the Excise Constable.

Educational Qualifications

The candidate must have passed 12th Class or equivalent examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha or by any other recognised Board or Council.

Age Limit (as on 01/01/2025)

Candidates who belong to the Unreserved categories must be between 21 to 32 years of age as of the last date of application submission. The age relaxations for other categories are as follows.

• OBC (Odisha Domicile): +3 years
• SC/ST/SEBC/Women: +5 years
• PwD: +10 years

OSSSC Excise Constable Recruitment 2026 Application Fee

While submitting the OSSSC Excise Constable Application Form 2026, candidates have to pay an application fee through an online payment gateway i.e. Net Banking/ Credit Card/ Debit Card/UPI. The examination fee for SC/ ST candidates is exempted, and the fee will be refunded for all those candidates who participated in the exam.

Steps to Apply For Odisha Excise Constable Recruitment 2026

Candidates can follow the step-by-step registration and application process by clicking on “How do I register/re-register/apply” on the official website, www.osssc.gov.in. Candidates must read all instructions carefully before starting the registration and application process.

• Registration and Online Application are two separate steps, but both are mandatory to complete the application.
• New User (Fresh Candidates): Candidates who have not registered earlier must click on “Apply Online” on the home page to complete fresh registration.
• Registered User (Existing Candidates): Candidates who already have a User ID from previous OSSSC recruitments must log in and choose the “Re-registration” option from the Applicant Menu.
• After registration/re-registration, candidates must: Log in using their credentials.
• Enter all required details correctly as per official documents.
• Candidates can pay the application fee and submit the online application form as guided by the system.
• Candidates are advised to apply well before the last date.

OSSSC Excise Constable Selection Process 2026

The selection for Excise Constable consists of three stages:

• Written Exam: The written exam will be conducted for 180 marks.
• Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test: In this stage, candidates’ physical fitness will be checked
• Document Verification: In this stage, all the original documents will be verified.

OSSSC Excise Constable Exam Pattern 2026

The written exam has 100 multiple-choice questions and is based on the 10th class (HSC) standard. Candidates can complete the exam in 90 minutes. The maximum marks for the exam are 100, and 0.25 marks will be subtracted for each wrong answer.

OSSSC Excise Constable Physical Test 2026

Based on the candidate’s performance in the written exam, a total of 3 times the total number of vacancies will be shortlisted for the Physical Test. The physical test comprises the Physical Measurement test, Physical Efficiency Test.

Physical Measurement Test

Candidates must meet the required Chest, Height, and Weight standards shown in the table below. Failing to meet these standards will disqualify you during the Physical Efficiency Test.

The PET is qualifying in nature; candidates have to meet the prescribed standards to move forward in the recruitment process. Failure of this stage leads to the disqualification of the selection process.

OSSSC Excise Constable Salary 2026
