Candidates who will be applying for the recruitment have to undergo a 3-stage selection process to be appointed for Forest Guard and Forester posts. Candidates who clear the OSSSC Written examination will be called to appear for the OSSSC Physical Test, which comprises the Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement Test, followed by Document Verification.

OSSSC Forest Guard & Forester Selection Process 2026

The candidates who will be applying for the OSSSC Forest Guard Vacancy 2026 have to go through a 3 stage selection process to be selected. The selection process will include the following stages;

Stage 1- Written Test: OSSSC will conduct the OSSSC written examination for Forest Guard and Forester Posts. On the basis of the written examination, candidates will be shortlisted for the next phase of the selection process i.e. Physical Exam.

Stage 2- Physical Test (Physical Measurement Test/ Physical Efficiency Test): On the basis of the candidate’s performance in the OSSSC Witten examination as per merit list 3 times the number of total vacancies will be called to appear for the Physical tests.

Stage 3- Document Verification: Qualified candidates in Physical examination will be called for Document Verification where candidates have to provide their original documents in order to verify the information submitted by them in the application forms.

OSSSC Forest Guard Exam Pattern 2025

The candidates who apply for OSSSC Recruitment 2026 for Forest Guard and Forester posts must be aware of the updated exam pattern for the online exam.

• The written exam consists of objective-type multiple-choice questions.
• The exam contains a total of 150 questions for 150 marks.
• There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for wrong answers.

OSSSC Physical Measurement Test 2026

On the basis of the candidate’s performance in OSSSC Forest Guard Written Examination and as per merit-based 03 times of the number of vacancies, candidates will be called to appear for the OSSSC Forest Guard  Physical MeasurementTest. PMT Test is qualifying in nature and candidates who do not fulfill the laid down physical efficiency test, i.e., Hight and Chest will be eliminated from the recruitment process.

Candidates who qualify for the Physical Measurement Test will be eligible to appear for the Physical Efficiency Test. PET test will be done through candidates’ performances as per the following parameters.

OSSSC Forest Guard Recruitment 2026 Salary

Selected candidates for the post of Forest Guard and Forester will be paid a monthly salary as mentioned below. Candidates appointed for the Forest Guard posts will be paid Rs 19,900 /-, and candidates who will be appointed for Forester posts will be provided Rs 25,500/.
